This is a big difference between e-sports and real sports. And it is a reality.
Get over it.
Well, there haven't been any revisions as far as I'm aware for that game since Ms. PAC-MAN, but yep, even PAC-MAN was eclipsed by PAC-MAN CE.

Get over it. What about other games like Chest? It's centuries old and it still has the same gameplay - it hasn't changed much yet it's still a landmark, somewhat. Video games are on a different medium, but they are in the same area. Also, 'real' sport describe a physical prowess; Starcraft is more of a mental sport. It's not the same category. It's easier to compare Starcraft to Chest than it is to compare it to Tennis.
This is a real bad point, the popularity of chess has fallen dramatically, in fact one could even make the argument that RTS games and Risk have superceded it.

Regret to tell you this.
Starcraft II has been delayed once again, and they are talking about shutting it down. So everyone is saved once again.

This is a real bad point, the popularity of chess has fallen dramatically, in fact one could even make the argument that RTS games and Risk have superceded it. I don't know where you're getting that from. First of all, Risk or any RTS game can't even begin to be compared to Chess in terms of popularity. Secondly, Chess was never a very popular game. It has always been very specialized and only in a few Eastern European countries and Russia has it ever been generally popular. Really that goes for all the games we're discussing, including Starcraft. There are certain groups and places in which the games are very popular, but generally don't garner that much attention.
In terms of the "scene" of the game or the highest levels, Chess is stronger than it has ever been. The scene for chess in the past was very weak, most Chess Masters couldn't even get by on winnings alone. Even today most National Masters, International Masters and even Grand Masters just make enough money to get by, but it's a lot better than it was before. And at least now the very best players can make millions. This is due in a large part to the changes that Bobby Fischer forced. So if anything, Chess is more healthy now.

I'm sure that people will be kind enough.
I'm going to sit tight and hope to get one but if I don't I'm sure the lovely community here will be streaming games for us and giving us all the juicy info! I can't wait for this to start. Even if I don't get a key It's still better knowing that people are enjoying it!

ya there's already a thread listing everyone who's gonna stream

Somebody selling a beta key for any reason? If so, go ahead and send me a message with your demands. :D

All the guys that ask for a stream, I don't think lots of users got enough internet speed to actually stream. Lets say they play the game full details and 1920x1080 (FULL HD) they can't stream in 1920x1080. Its just not possible with usual internet connections.
You need 1Mbit/ - 1,5Mbit/s to stream Starcraft lagfree and with 320x240. If you want to stream Starcraft 2 in lets say 800x600 (in my opinion lesser resolution makes no sense, since you can't really tell whats going on anymore) you will probably need 3 - *Mbit/s -_-
I will try to stream nonetheless.

I will try to stream nonetheless. Naruto, given the fact that day 9 provided a stream yesterday of a sc2 battle report and you could tell what was going on, i dont think it will be a problem. That said, can't you stream ur FULL HD screen and then resize on ProCaster and upload smaller data?

How much would I pay? - OVER NINE THOUSAND!
