for those who have tried the other versions please share your thoughts on unit sounds/unit names etc. Compared to the english version, are there units that sound better? I know a few people like Artosis that play on both servers but not sure if he plays with both English version.

I do not like the French version available here, and I'd like to know if I have to buy the English version from amazon.co.uk or I can simply buy it locally (and get my game faster) and language switch. Also, does anyone know if Starcraft II will be available for download at the release date? I'd prefer to be able to get it right away in the proper version rather than wait for a long delivery ![]() Thanks for your help.

Unless we've been completely misled, you can pre-download the english eu version already from the sc2 site, and activate it with the key of the box version you buy.

Guess I'll have to buy from amazon.co.uk like I do with all my games ;\ You obviously are in a Francophone environment, because: firstly, our language is called Dutch and secondly there's only an English language version for us. You just have to go to Flanders and there's the English version for you. Remember, our language is called Dutch! I know some people think we call our language Flemish, but that's just a divide-and-rule trick the elites have invented which the plebs blindly take over. Anyway, I'm WAY too late of responding here, I just googled which language versions exist out of curiosity and I read your message. Other people reading me can see how's the situation here. Also, if your country doesn't sell a specific language version, you can download the language pack you want. All the good.

Anyway, to go further on topic. Why does everyone hate his own version so much here? Are they so bad? No they aren't for the most part. What does suck is the fact that the title is in English (StarCraft, sometimes also the Wings of Liberty). What also sucks are the English names with a French/German/Spanish/other speech, makes it all the cheesier. Also, indeed sad the Dutch lost their finals, didn't break the party in the Netherlands though. ![]() BTW, if you want bad dubbing, watch the Russian version of StarCraft I:
