If you are using the link to the blip archieve, http://day9tv.blip.tv, the download link doesn't appear. If you use the links for each episode in the op (bolded below) you should have a download link below the video.
11/02 Day[9] Daily #0210 Starcraft 2 Newbie Tuesday: 2v2 Strategy (Blip.tv) 11/01 Day[9] Daily #0209 Starcraft 2 Funday Monday Halfsies! (Blip.tv)
Another alternative is to use a third party program like FlashGot for Firefox to grab the video.

Take an average (lets say homogeneous, just to be easy) string, and put it in a bowl, such that each end is at an opposite lip of the bowl, and the center is in the bottom of the bowl.
As we all know, things burn more quickly up than they do down. If I light this string on the right side, it burns down to the center in, say, 45 minutes, and then back up to the left side in 15 minutes, for a total of one hour. If I light the left side, it burns down to the center in 45 minutes, and then back up to the right side in 15 minutes. Therefor, if I light both sides, each burns down to the center in 45 minutes.
I don't think it's possible to solve this riddle without assuming at least one of isotropy or homogeneity.
you are making this problem way more complicated than need be and adding variables that were never in the original problem - by doing so your analogy with the bowl is incorrect. The problem merely states that the burn rate is variable - it doesn't take into account why its variable so if you were to light that string on both ends it will burn down the end that took 15 minutes in 15 minutes and then start burning up the slower side.
you can make the problem more complicated all you want but the original problem (at least if its the one I'm thinking of) is not that complicated.
Your response would be similar to anwering the question: What comes next in the following sequence? 1, 2, 4, 8 with the word Chair.

btw>What was your favorite stuffed animal as a kid and do you still have it?
I had the doll of a small girl (looked a lot like one of those russian puppet in a puppet things) and it played a lullaby if you pulled a string. I carried it everywhere, after a few years it smelled really bad and my parents wanted to throw it away (couldn't wash it), but I didn't care. (true love overcomes everything^^)
Certainly not as cool as Manfred, because the fabric was rather rough and not as soft&cuddly. Because of the built-in musical box it had a pretty hard core too. I bet you could've killed a trout that you just fished out of a river with one slap of that thing. Well, I guess that was quite helpful when you get into a fight on the playground. Children are mean, you gotta be armed! xD
Eventually I had to throw it away, kinda sad when people like Sean still have those memories around. I guess if I ever have kids, I'll make sure that they get a stuffed animal, that's as soft and durable as Manfred. =)
Did Sean ever reveal why the bunny is named Manfred? I wonder how it got a german name.. ^^

damn that Reaper vs Protoss daily was awesome , hopefully qxc will do more testing in the future and refine the build, very refreshing Terran play to watch

Does anyone know the name of the elevator music song at the end of daily 201?

Well, the problem doesn't state that the burn pattern is isotropic either, so you shouldn't assume that it is.

I tried that today, apparently you have to keep doing the harass for sometime before you can safely transition away from reapers or you will get pummeled by a not fast expanding protoss. But I never knew Reapers really are so fast at killing workers and buildings ( I never used them pre-nerf), will definitely try to implement them to my game. So in away it was a helpful Daily I guess.

Caznode here, oo-dels and oo-dels of <3's to Day[9] for the shoutout (and for answering my question!), it totally made my day.

Well, the problem doesn't state that the burn pattern is isotropic either, so you shouldn't assume that it is. Exactly that bugged me also when I watched that daily, the point was that we should not assume things, and then provided solution in turn assumes something that was not stated in the problem introduction So yes your point is valid and solution provided by Day9 is invalid in this specific case.

Just wondering, is your expanding Funday Monday EGMachine inspired?

Yeah, reapers were the bees knees before the nerf truck. I mean, they can still do the same thing, but it's MUCH later so they aren't as effective and don't stand out as well as your other options at that point.
Harassing with 2 groups of 12 reapers was so fun before the patch.
