Maybe this is not the right thread for this but what the hell, on the get-all-tech-in-the-universe build that was the topic of todays daily. It seems to be the soon to be standard opener for terran in all matchups, after Terran play evolving through many builds and then eventually first TvT settling on this opener with marines/tank/viking. Then very much later most terrans found refuge from the horribleness of TvP in the marine/tank/banshee/raven opener and I have myself been experimenting with getting the build into my TvZ too since its obviously so awesome but I have not been near the crispness of the way TLO played in the games on todays cast. What struck me though recently is how much this kind of terran play hints at the merger between warcraft 3 and broodwar mechanically. Broodwar was a macro rts where you had to continuesly keep up in the war for expansions while getting a shitload of stuff to run over the other guy. Wc3 was a micro rts where you instead just got a few of every unit to get access to all abilities and then you microed that army like a lunatic. It seems that sc2 is the perfect merger between the two atleast for terran, you still need to manage the expandorama and get a shitload of stuff, but at the same time like wc3 you need to gte a shitload of a lot of different stuff and then micro your army perfectly to have the right stuff kill the right stuff for the opponent. I don't play zerg or protoss so I can't really say much for the crispness of them teching and building a complex army in the same way but in my experience it seems that the most successful zerg and protoss late game armies at least are the ones where there is just a lot of everything rather than distinct structure towards a few units. Do you guys who play zerg and protoss think that standard army composition for your races in the metagame are going to evolve into these very complex compositions of all kinds of stuff too?

Obviously you reached the same level of awesomeness as a Flash vs JD finals in a SL and it just created a temporary EMP, knocking out your awesomeness before a spontainously black whole was created.

I made another one just now but had some issues with the video stream so I had to take the frames manually (super lame process). I'm actually not happy with it but I'm working with a 1 MB limit for other reasons ![]()
