FOR YOU! Your nugget about only the first 1k people having a smooth experience was also fantastic. Did you speak to all the 1600+ viewers over that 1k to come up with that? Or was it something you just decided to pull out of your ass?

Yes, it LOOKED better, but only like the first thousand or so people that load your stream can actually watch it. Everything after that, it spikes, and constantly stops and goes.

It better to have a stream that is slightly lower quality, but that I can actually watch, instead of it stoping and going every 5 seconds.

Day[9], not sure if your looking for ideas for dailies, but I was wondering if you would considering doing a stream on "cheese", or more specifically, how to defend against it and return to your build order. I see a lot of posts on forums about all around bitterness/inability to defend against things like reapers/proxies/rushes and think it might make for a decent daily.

Also:stream quality was awesome on ustream.

I would say the quality was about the same. Although I never had any problems with livestream whatsoever.
it always ends badly

Did anyone watch the stream start to finish w/ no stutters?

Lol, Day[9] asks for feedback and he overloads the TL.net servers.

Quality was fantastic even though I'm stuck on my poopy laptop right now

No stutters for me at any point in the cast.

It was perfect for me. I'm from the UK and I've quite a poor connection, 3 down 0.5 up - as of late with the livestream it buffers constantly and is quite unwatchable. However, this ustream cast was not only -much- better in quality, but it was totally smooth for me too, great news!

Keep up the good work, looking forward to anything involving Gretorp as well. He rocks.

/edit

I watched from 3minutes into the cancel robo game to the end, I noticed only two minor buffers at the end that lasted for no longer than 3 seconds each.

Ustream defnintely was higher quality, but used FAR more resources up in my browser, causing many of my other tasks running to really lag the stream (such as when I get an IM), my internet connection is good enough to enable a full quality non-lag stream, its just the resources that ustream uses over time. In fact I had to restart my browser (force kill task) to post this .
Ustream pros:
higher quality, no hiccups, no banners, flawless picture.
Ustream cons:
huge resource usage, inability to multi-task while watching a stream, and I had to listen to Day[9]'s fabulous toons through HIS speakers over his mic; I prefer to have those delicious beats directly streamed to my own speakers (I just think the overall quality is much higher).
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light.

Dear Day,
My computer absolutely hated Livestream. It would eventually work during live casts, but it would barely ever load the on demand videos. I usually watched a somewhat laggy cast. My computer was elated to show me this Ustream cast. It lagged a little twice, but then I just clicked the little reload button in the bottom of the video and it fixed itself. I had previous experience with Ustream, and I have been hoping for a long time that you would switch. I can't believe it happened! Thank you, Day.

Had random stuttering, 2-5 seconds of pause every 20-30 seconds. Completely unwatchable .

It was pretty smooth throughout, the video froze BRIEFLY ( 5-10 seconds) a couple times but the audio was there for the entire stream. I feel it was much better than livestream.

My only gripe was that chat wasn't muted. It pained my soul to watch some of those trolls.

Good stream quality tonight, I could see the replay minutes and seconds just fine! But of course saying that, there is always room for improvement, but it was very, very good and I was able to make out the time fine.

I had no stutters at all on my end with your stream. Well I take that back; not until the very, very end of the cast and that very well could of been on my end as I was using a wireless laptop at the time. From the very start though up until the last 5 minutes or so, it was perfect, and the few stutters that I did experience at the very end were minor.

Damn I got home late!!! but the VOD is already up

^_^

Note: If you had trouble with the live cast, try the ondemand they tend to be a bit less resource intensive.

I think your going to need it. Getting over 2k viewers and those viewers can't watch it without lots and lots of stutters. You could say "Oh well, 2k is enough" but if you ever get 3-4k viewers, your going to see a LOT more complains about stuttering and how bad Ustream can get.

Right now, it's only about 500 people with problems to 2000 that don't

I did, as I said earlier there where no problems at all for me. I am thinking though that maybe people with a less then optimal connection might have lag issues with the increased quality. You cant please everyone.
