PSG-Bayern 5-4 after 68 minutes. I'd probably pay 2k to see the 2nd leg in the stadium. We are living in the timeline of offensive dominance. Kind of fitting that Italy is struggling.

The CL latter stages really are where it’s at these days! I wonder what’s changed, it feels crazy scores and comebacks between top sides are a bit more common than in my youth, and big domestic clashes tend to be more attritional than big Euro ones I think getting rid of away goals plays a bit of a factor, the home side is less worried about conceding but this kinda trend preceded that if my memory serves

Game yesterday might have been the best this season, maybe even better than what the WC will give us.

There is less patience and grit around Also the best players are incredible fast, agile and can shoot. And all that in tight spaces. And both teams have like 3 of those instead of just one like in the ol' days with Messi and CR.

There is goalscorer, assist and secondary assist (3 points total) There is no "own" goal. Goals are always accounted to the last attacker touching it with the assists like above mentioned. If there is a shot, goalie kept it out but gives a rebound to another attacker and then goal, the first shot counts as an assist. And a few more minor things I am probably forgetting right now.

Thank you ![]() Yeah i feel it is a very strong contender for the game of the year/season. WC finals have their magic but im not sure it will be possible to get to that level from yesterday. 2nd hand Bayern will push just like against Real and PSG will push because 1 goal is not enough security. So im again expecting guns blazing in that game.

In terms of the quality of both teams, that was one of the best games I've ever seen - to the point where I can't think of a better one. But for excitement and drama, knockout games are gonna be better than the first leg of a best of 2 like, always. Yeah for sure, there’s nothing quite like a big World Cup game down the pub, drags in even the most casual fans when one’s nation is on But quality wise, it’s not really anywhere near a top, top CL game anymore, probably hasn’t been for a fair good while. Aside from top, top club sides being able to buy top players for every position from all around the globe, they’ve also got a hell of a lot more time together, and time for coaches to drill them. In that sense that’s probably a big factor in Spain’s winning of 3 tournaments in a row, a big chunk of their team were used to playing with each other in a couple of club sides. Quite rare to have that mix of both top talent these days that’s so concentrated in a couple of places

Feels a pretty damn soft penalty for Athletico there, although Arsenal’s wasn’t exactly a stonewall one. There’s little in football I find more frustrating than VAR in combination with the current handball law Also belated happy cake day Kobra!

Arsenal first penalty: Soft. Give or not give, both options possible IMO though I tend to NO Atlethi first penalty: According to handball rule, this is a pen. I hate it but it's the rules fault not the refs. YES Arsenal second penalty: Also soft, but IMO clearer than the first. I tend to YES Result: Both teams deserve one penalty. Fair result, no team got fcked from the refs. Atleti was the better team.

And yeah, it made sense to me why I stopped watching the game in the first place. I just don't feel the magic in the game anymore. Anyway, yeah, this isn't meant to be a disparaging post about the state of the sport. I'll be keeping a close eye on Arsenal's PL final run-in. Really want them to win the league. It's been so long. Speaking of which, I don't really get the whole support behind City? Why would anyone want them to win over Arsenal? I mean, I get it, sure, but it's stupid? Short term fleeting gain for long term pain and enshittification of the league.
