I'm so sad right now.
It felt like it was all coming together but then just unlucky with the pens.
I think Southgate got it a bit wrong, but holy shit the guy has worked miracles with England since he took over.

Penalty subs are fairly normal I'd say, at least when there is still subs to be used. EC final had three subs at 123th minute, two for ManU and one for Villareal for example. All of them scored.
I think it's just more of the "penalties are lost, not won" mindset, rarely it is the winning penalty that gets talked about, it's always the misses.

If you look at the bright side, lots of these players are super young and still can achieve great things in the future.
