Now I have no idea... Liverpool is still a slight favourite but only if Allisson stays healthy. Otherwise its a tossup between City, Liverpool and x? Arsenal 100% But seriously, it's a super hard call at this point. No clear standout teams now that Van Dijk is gone and if I had to give a guess right now, I'd say maybe Liverpool can take it, although they won't come anywhere near last season's points total

I was gonna gonna say Liverpool or Spurs if Mourinho works his second season magic and everyone else stays mediocre, but with how blatantly the refereeing is going Uniteds way they will probably be in it too. https://streamja.com/zN2mq

Meanwhile Chelsea and Yanited are playing out a nice draw so far lol. Both teams in need of defensive confidence.

The wild fluctuations in the match results surely cannot be a mere coincidence. Imagine, in a space of a week of SC2: Zest smashes Serral 3-0, Scarlett defeats Zest 3-1, Patience defeats Scarlett 3-1, Serral smashes Patience 3-0. Too many upsets and lopsided results just do not happen in a regular season at all. The games have to go on, otherwise revenue and livelihoods will plummet. Everyone just has to put on a brave face and shoulder on. For the sake of the sustainability of the sport. But in terms of true competition? Sorry, there'll be an asterisk on this season's record books. Probably the biggest beneficiary of this season are the bookmakers and fantasy league gamers...

The penalty fiasco 2 years back was the warning sign, he's an absolute liability and cost his team big. Fulham need to banish him for the second time, permanently this time what happened? my highlights didnt really show anything with him

Was given a yellow but reviewed and upgraded to red. Parker brought him on to chase the game and all he did was bitch at the referee, get run past and get sent off. He did literally nothing good

Probably right to an extent but Mourinho said in an interview yesterday that there is a shift in the mindset of players in this generation. Defenders in academies being taught to play out from the back foremost instead of defend first, keepers are now judged on how well they use their feet not their hands. Mourinho says this is a reason why for him defenders are quite poor right now, then he added that all the offensive types of players are quick players who play inside the lines with very quick feet. But i still would say there is a large percent of the reasoning for this whacky season is the awful situation the world is in, because the lack of pre season then playing games every 3 days must take a huge toll mentally on players.

Also just noticed that Liverpool has both most goals scored and most goals conceded in the league. Maybe that's less uncommon than I'm thinking this early in the season though. (I then look at other league tables and notice that Valencia is only 1 goal away from being in the same spot. )

Oh yes. The scheduling is just terrible. Mourinho was moaning about it too. Interesting insight about modern playstyles and training. It's something I noticed as well. The 'highly rated' fullbacks are those who gallop forward ala Roberto Carlos and Cafu, whilst midfielders are box-to-box and able to score the occasional screamer. Athleticism is a must. I feel there's a lack of diversity - foorballers who primarily excel in a special skill (specialists, not generalists). Modern football seems to lack the next Pirlo, Cannavaro, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic. Maybe the game has evolved into a higher level. Maybe I'm just blinded by nostalgia. But football seems rather... generic, these days (for want of a better word).
