Sports we see on TV can sometimes be deceiving (see: tennis) in term of how fast they're being played. I think it's the speed on which he's dribbling gives defenders little to no window to make a decision, hence the hesitance to move in and ultimately gives Robben more time/space to do whatever the hell he wants.
No matter how skillful you are, you can't beat physics.
That's why players like Ronaldo stays on top for so long because the only way to beat him is to be stronger and faster than he is. No trick required.

I think it's his stutter-step just before he shoots. He can shoot at every step he takes, since he doesn't need that much power. The defender has to pick which one(s) he's going to block, but there's no way he can block 5, like in the second goal. Robben just waits for one not to get blocked and shoots (also picking his corner ofc). Sounds easy!

Who's the toughest player you've ever played against and why? Arjen Robben. He is simply horrible to defend. Everybody knows him. Everybody knows what he does. The problem is the when part. When is he cutting inside. And by the second you realize he does, the ball most likely is already in the back of the net.

Great find! Yeah that sounds like a nightmare to defend. Just no tell to when he's going to cut inside, and he's so quick on his feet.

good thing is that Liverpool can advance because of h2h>goal-difference. So they "only" need to win 2-0 or 3-1 or 4-2 next gamve at home vs napoli.

Di Maria flying yolo tackle, wtf. Stick to attacking xD. Really good start from Paris then Liverpool had something like 10mn for them before starting to receive too many counter-attacks and the 2-0. That last minute penalty is such a waste of a great half for PSG. I can see this going bad now.

Mané drops before he gets hit, but Di Maria really didn't make it look like a clean tackle and he never gets the ball. Can't really blame the ref.

Ok so Verrati should have seen red in this game multiple times lol. Neymar tricks are so good but he spends so much time on the floor it just pisses you off. Kehrer is a real talent, like that guy. Scouse didn't really threaten Buffon all night which was my problem, after going 1-0 down they had the ball back but made no chances. Took deserved goal from pen from the flow of the game but not in terms of chances made.
I said it before this group was chaos and Klopp really fucked it up resting so many players and getting beat in Serbia. They now have to beat Napoli at home by 2 or more goals.....1-0 isn't enough due to head to head. Also PSG just need a win and they are through but if they drop points then they be out probably. But again this all comes down to that poor judgement to rest so many players away in Serbia lol. Crazy group!

Lol Liverpool's fine. Just gonna be another anfield UCL night and they'll go through

Liverppol players (mainly Hendersonn Milner and Gomez)should calm down with the knocks, they kept on hammering PSG players long after the ball was gone. Not that it excuses the poor attitude from the PSG players but I can't really feel sympathy for butchers.

Freakin Messi how does he do it.
Look at this picture. Imagine how he scores from here. Then watch the clip. He even starts the whole thing himself from the midfield...

Honestly both games PSV did so well but just got rekt by Messi's individual skill. (well ok and their own lack of finishing quality)

Yeah I was watching it for the first time and had no idea how he got his shot off.

Verratti probably escaped the red, but Milner seemed immune to any kind of foul against him or yellows, and a few others did "BPL fouls" that should not be allowed in CL.
Also what do you guys think about the penalty appeal from Van Dijk on Neymar around the end? He gets the ball but it still stays in Neymar's possession and then he get the legs. Neymar adds some theatrics that probably don't help but I felt it was a pen.

Well, i didn't see Milner butcher anyone that game....and Verrati himself should have been off multiple times so it is swings and roundabouts. The first challenge he did was arguably a 3 match ban red but the ref was too quick it seems and booked him. However after that he made 3 more fouls and still never got a second yellow which was weird. Don't think Liverpool did anything bad foul wise but they got punished at European level for the cards they were shown but the referee defo didn't have a good game. He missed a lot including the penalty which was stonewall on Mane but was saved by his extra official. He was defo suckered into the PSG players rolling on the floor as well which was a shame because PSG played the best game they have played under Tuchel by a long way. However it is just ruined by the rolling on floor after every tackle to then instantly get up and take the freekick or whatever lol.
The Van Dijk challenge wasn't a penalty no because he gets all of the ball, the ball is gone then the contact is made. Van Dijk had a bad game, at fault for both goals conceded and acted stupid in the last 10 minutes, but that wasn't a pen no.
Yeah nuts game, was 3-2 after 22minutes. 4-4 after 51 and then 5-5 finish. Also Villa went 5-4 up after Forest went down to 10 men for the last 20 minutes!
