Alonso is so slow and doesn't fit a back 4. I see no use for him now that we don't need his height. I like David luiz, but he's a suspect in a back 4. He tries to intercept like when he was sweeping, which only opens up the defence. However this was also because our useless midfield 3 did not track back to defend at all, always jogging when they lose possession. Kante may solve the problem. Personally preferred if luiz played DM alongside jorginho today. Dave looked so lost today. He is not a fullback that can take on defenders. Defensively, it felt like he forgot he is no longer playing on the right side of the back 3. There's no more moses covering him. Jorginho and fab looks off the pace. They got in each other's way, move to the same spaces, neither ran back when we loss possession. A Fab jorginho midfield will never work because they're essentially the same player. Barkley was particularly disappointing. He was suppose to be the AM, but every we got forward, he was found in the holding mid area. We were so isolated offensively because of that. Nothing penetrative coming from him. CHO was bright and daring. He's the only positive. He needs a lot of work on his end product though, because beating players 1 on 1 means nothing if you can't turn it into chances. Pedro deserves to be sold asap. Already we have no width, yet all he does is cut in from the right and lose the ball over and over again. I'm still crossing my fingers for Morata. I forgive him this match because what can a striker do when he has no support. I am however not so impressed by Abraham, because he like bats is just a goal poacher. They can't fight for ball, they can't dribble with it and they're not that good in linking up with teammates. It's sad that we're so reliant on hazard and kante. Selling matic and Costa was such a big mistake. If only baka was as good as he cost. If only mou wasn't such an idiot that he let go so many good players to keep Oscar. Also can you imagine having another player that can actually beat defenders, someone that conte didn't ruin like kenedy? Personally think barring departures/reinforcements, our squad should be: Gk Courtois Lb Dave Rb Moses (play like Valencia) Cb luiz/Christensen/rudiger/zouma (hope he makes it) Cm kante jorginho Cam barkley/rlc LW hazard Rw willian Cf morata | ||

Plenty of issues there too, but with the world cup arrivals there should be enough potential star power to contest stuff. | ||
