Harden's date with destinyHarden has been notorious for disappearing in big games, but he has the chance in Game 6 to change that reputation![[image loading]](https://i.imgur.com/3ic6660.jpg)
And now Chris Paul, one win away from his first NBA Finals appearance, will watch from the sidelines in Game 6 and potentially in Game 7 ... if the Warriors extend the series. His destiny rests in the hands of Harden, the presumptive NBA MVP but someone who has, in the biggest moments of his basketball career, turned into a wilting flower. In Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals last season, when the San Antonio Spurs finished off the Rockets in blowout fashion, Harden simply disappeared. He was 2-of-11 from the field (including 2-of-9 from three). He had six turnovers (after having nine in the game before). But for Harden and the Rockets, there is always this thought: In the worst of circumstances comes the best of opportunities.
Want to prove your worth in the biggest of situations?
Well, James Harden, here's your chance. CBS Sports

Finally we get a real HOU vs. GSW game!!!

This is closer than the final score will make it appear, and I have an early start tomorrow and I have to sleep now so I won't see what the final score is. There is just one point in the game and it broke open for the Warriors. Anyway, I think this game is a good example of who wins with both teams playing as designed.
Before I go, really fuck Regie Miller. He is so corny and atrocious. He says Curry turned around after releasing the ball. Then replay shows he tracked the ball all the way in. He says Gordon fouled Thompson by invading his landing are, replay shows, as everyone watching knew, the contact was full on body. He says Curry said something to Harden after the three, replay shows he just turned around and inadvertently got in Harden's space.
He is the NBA version of fake news. TNT please take him off game broadcast and put him somewhere else.

25 points in the entire 2nd half for HOU. Yikes

Unless im forgetting someone i think only 10 teams have won a championship in the last 30+ years. Heat, Pistons, Celtics, Bulls and Cavs from the east. Lakers, Spurs, Rockets, Mavericks, and Warriors from the West. All 4 teams left in the playoffs are among these 10 teams so that will continue for another year. I'm curious how other leagues compare but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Here's a fun article.
http://harvardsportsanalysis.org/2016/12/which-sports-league-has-the-most-parity/
Of course you are dealing with two factors, the nature of the sport and their talent model. La Liga and EPL make no attempt at parity. It's like they are stuck in the early days of the NBA. The NHL has an equitable model, and, since hockey is essentially a random game, will have a very high level of parity. MLB used to be very unfair but every team has some resources and baseball is another highly random game, so it seems to even out.

Maybe if the playoffs is played like March Madness then that will be a huge factor in upsetting the superteams. But then NBA loses major revenues.
About tonight, I don't know how to feel. In the last few years I'd actually be anxious about a game 7, as I am about HOU vs. GSW tomorrow, Oddly I don't feel the same about BOS vs. CLE, maybe because Lebron will surely force a win? Anyway, I hope they give us a good game.

The Celtics have the best court in all of NBA! The fans though...
|
I dont get the Boston fan hate (if you hate Paul Pierce that makes more sense to me). They just viciously boo people that have wronged them.
|
Cheering and even jeering are ok. But there are times you can even hear things caught by announcers mic and during cut aways racist and trashy things.
|
Still better than Philly fans though
|
Celtics double and triple teaming LeBron now. His teammates really need to step up.

I usually like to credit defense, but the offensive sets in this game have been below average.
|
Boston completely imploding in the final 3 minutes. So many possessions and absolutely no points. Inexcusable.
