Also, that powder blue and gold Lakers jersey is yummy. I wonder if they have a Kobe version of it.[/QUOTE]

It's early, I know, but my initial impressions are very positive. As for Lebron, I think part of the problem is that Cavs management and coaching hasn't really been great. Put him with a Klay Thompson and a bunch of Danny Greens and that team will just wreck the NBA. They've never found or coached up guys who can really complement his game. There's no one close to a Kawhi Leonard who started with no offense but was coached up to be a great offensive player. Even a poor man's version would do wonders next to Lebron. He doesn't do well with ball dominant players but does really well with catch and shoot players and good cutters. That's why Bosh was a great pairing in Miami. Bosh was always the underrated part of that team. He lessened his offensive load in exchange for anchoring the defense. On offense, he was a great spot up shooter for Lebron to pass to. Lebron may not be as versatile as Jordan or Kobe on scoring but he is really, really, really good at what he does. For all the faults in his game, he still has 3 rings. He just never had a coach who can force him to learn how to play off the ball the way the Warriors did with Durant last year. My problem with "he is good at what he does" is that it is a vague attempt at discussing comparisons among great players. We could say the same thing to Horry, Rodman, 2016 TT, Iguodala, and we get nowhere. Anyway, would you say he is GOAT or at least GOAT candidate? "If brute force isn't working, you aren't using enough." Lebron doesn't have the fancy footwork of a Jordan or a Kobe but he is really good at slashing to the basket and either scoring or assisting off it. He has a ridiculously high fg% near the basket, comparable to centers who do nothing but dunk all the time. One of the things I appreciate most about this game is that he goes to the basket with the intention to make a field goal. I've seen plenty of players go to the basket to just try to draw a foul without trying to actually make a field goal. We can talk about how his game isn't going to be as effective as he ages but he is 33. For comparison, Jordan won his last ring at 34 and Kobe at 31. His game has aged well enough. He can still score near the basket at a very high percentage. And there were years that he shot over 35% from three. As for GOAT, no. I grew up as a Jordan fan in the 90s. Nothing beats teenage fandom.

There is actually a stat somewhere in the 2017 Finals or Offseason thread which shows LBJ actually being bad/not good at making decisions in crucial games when he is driving towards the lane. IIRC, it shows him consistently passing to a cold Korver or to Love, when he is practically 5 feet away from the basket at 70% fg with Curry or Green on him. As for GOAT, no. I grew up as a Jordan fan in the 90s. Nothing beats teenage fandom. Preach brother.

I notice Lebron playing differently this season. Might be good for the team.

Wade and Rose offer no "3" and no "D". i said it at the start of the year and i'll say it again.. their defense will be worse than last year.

Surely that would be useful on Lebr- What was I saying? true, so does Jose Calderon and he is a legit 3 point threat and therefore creates spacing. i was thinking they could sign Bosh and Bargnani and create a bench line up of 2007 Raptors... they could even make Sam Mitchell an assistant coach.... ahh the memories ![]()
