When did Asensio start showing promise?

He's been loaned around and producing pretty mediocre stats (although as a very young player) and cost Real only about 5 million. Now he's suddenly scoring monstrous goals and outshining most of the stars in Real's starting 11. Did someone see this coming somewhere during the last season or so?

Yeah last season his sub appearances weren't doing much for me. Then towards the end of the season he started scoring a goal or two when Zidane was resting alot of players.
Now started this season carrying Real as Ronaldo is banned.

Asensio played pretty good last season already. He was just overshadowed by Isco and Morata a lot - thats why no one really noticed him.

He's been a rising star for some years now since he played at Mallorca at youth levels. He only had his first season in top flight during 2015-16 when he was on loan at Espanyol where he was one of their best players for the season, netting 4 goals and 12 assists in a decidedly midtable team.

Unless you've been living under a rock it's not like he's suddenly been pulled out of Zidane's arse and scoring screamers just yesterday.

And Barcelona are utter idiots that they let him slip (or so goes the word on the street) back when the deal was all but closed, but they didn't want to pay his transfer fee all in one go.

Borussia Dortmund have signed Dynamo Kiev striker Andriy Yarmolenko on a four-year contract.

Looks like thats Dembele replacement, good signing really as Yarmolenko is a well finished article at European level.

And it seems like LFC bought naby Keita for 48 mil pounds but for next season. Expensive but a good deal imo since he has so much potential.

Also a good deal for Dortmund with yarmolenko. 25 mil seems so little.

He is versatile can play anywhere in midfield. At Arsenal he being played as wingback though which is weird. He is 24 too so got time to grow and stuff.
