Forest just more than doubled their transfer record for him but I'm not sure about the wisdom of spending 13 million on a 5 foot 7 European midfielder for English Championship football.

I'm guessing Forest want to follow the Wolves playbook. João Carvalho had been deemed a rising star in the youth level and b team. He had a good season loaned at Vitória de Setúbal before being tried out at Benfica's main team. He did not impress at benfica's main squad. Having said that, he's certainly talented, high upside but there's some risk there as with most players his age who have not yet excelled at pro level. Benfica fans are split on whether we should have sold him. Good luck... Edit: also, are you sure those millions aren't Mendes' money? :o)

Hopefully Carvahlo can adapt to the relentless physical demands of the Championship. Its a weird league to play in with so many games over a season and such a fast style of play. Thanks for that anyway. Seems like he's an unknown quantity with talent.

I thought Bernardo Silva would have a tough time in the Premiership and he seems to be doing well. By the way, I'd also be very excited about Diogo Gonçalves. He showed flashes of brilliance for Benfica's first team at a time when we were stacked with great wingers. He wasn't terribly consistent though but he was only 20 years old.

I'm a bit disappointed with Silva though, I expected more from him, he was Monaco's best player during their wonderful season, even if his form dropped a bit towards the end but their calendar was ridiculous with CL's semis, French cup final, league cup semifinals with a group of only 16 regular players. Concerning Portuguese, I'm also disappointed to see Jardim stay at Monaco, he has to rebuild his squad every year and he improves his players so much, I would like to see him coach a bigger club. I guess being able to live a normal life at Monaco is just too good to pass for him.

Perez said that it is the in the team's best interest to announce the manager before the WC and he did it.On the other hand, Rubiales overreacting like an idiot didn't improve the situation for sure. Yeah it seems like a bit of an extreme reaction. But if it deters this sort of activity going forward, and I believe it would that is at the very least a silver lining. There is a massive conflict of interest issue + Show Spoiler + (and with conflict of interest, perception matters more than reality) Sucks for Spain though, they were playing well under him and he had the dressing room it seems.

Battaglia and Ruben Ribeiro have been the 7th and 8th players to rescind their contracts with Sporting. That's in addition to Rui Patrício, Daniel Podence, William Carvalho, Gelson Martins, Bruno Fernandes, Bas Dost and Rúben Ribeiro. Marcos Acuña and Jérémy Mathieu may be next. To illustrate this, here's the team that played in the cup final: + Show Spoiler + ![]() New Edit: Rafael Leão, a promising youngster, has also rescinded.

He did the same thing last year and he got boo'd by Atletico's fan for half a season. What does he think is going to happen now that he accepted just because he got more money?
