Gonna lose some more tonight. MILAN vs Arsenal. Maybe it's time Arsene... Oddly phrashed you don't lose UEFA coefficent point things, you just don't win anymore or get less than expected. The English teams will start dropping like flies this round. I don't think Yanited or Chelsea will get to the next round. But it's still by far the best year England have had for a long while. I really thought Spurs were going to do well. Beat Juventus and then have another big game in the quarter finals. England are still ahead of Spain this season but that will change. Real have had a terrible season domestically but Ronaldo can still score in Europe even if not at home. Real have as gooder chance as anyone of winning again this year. If they finish 4th 20 points behind Barca but win a completly unprecedented third straight Champions League that's going to be an interesting situation. I assume Zidane will still go but with a lot more love on the back of Champions League history. What's going to happen at Arsenal is anyones guess. It's going to be a messy rebuild with all the English medias attention on it for the foreseeable future. A big job, a tough job. No idea who's going to want that one. How don't you think Yanited won't beat Sevilla at home on the night at Old Trafford? I mean i understand Chelsea one, we gotta go away from home and get at least one goal. But yanited are at home, im sure they can score one vs them. Sevilla have been awful since that 0-0 too. I agree with this. Last season United looked like they would drop out every single round and even had to go 120 mins against the huge team Anderlecht. In the end they still win, it is just the Mourinho way and this Sevilla team just doens't seem good enough to prevent it.

Yanited are so hard to predict right now. They keep throwing out terrible performances yet they are still second in the League. Maybe the fact they look terrible and the football they play is so awful to watch that I ignore the fact they are to some extent getting results. I don't know I have no faith in them or Mourinho right now. I guess in reality Serville aren't the challange Yanited managed to make them look like in the away leg.

https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method5/crank2018.html has rankings going back to 1960
looking through it now, spain is #1 from 1960-1967, england from 68-75, (spain is down at 10th at this point!), germany #1 from 76-84, england takes 1 year in 85 before getting a 5 year ban, allowing Italy to take the lead from 86 to 99, spain from 2000-2007, england from 2008- 2012, spain from 2013 onward.
the swings have been really big, italy went from being 12th to 1st in 86. fun nerding out!
edit: also, it's already england's best year since 2010/2011.

That websites great I didn't realise you could just stroll back in time on it like that.
edit: Proper geeky fact because of that ban League Cup winners Oxford United were denied Europan football in 1986–87. Oxford United in Europe!

The 5 year ban also inflates the Italian "dominance" too because if our fans weren't going stupidly crazy we might have been able to do a bit more point scoring xD We basically rejoined in 1990 with 0 coefficient ranking

I am really confused by the arrangement of European Cup, European Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Cup. It’s a bit before my time. My understanding is that the European Cup was for domestic League winners and the prominent trophy. If a team did the League and cup double they played in this right? The Cup winner’s cup does what it says on the tin. Domestic cup winners play each other in a knock out competition. Then the UEFA cup sat bellow that as a best of the rest trophy (In England’s case the League cup winners got a spot in this)? Maybe the relationship of the cups changed a bit as time went on. I’m glad they combined them into one continuous competition. It doesn’t make sense to have the best teams in Europe arbitrarily playing in different competitions depending on what they won and who won the cup. The Cup Winners Cup must have been a bit random depending who won the Cup in which country each year.

Man Utd team is very weird, Rashford over Martial/Lindgaard. Pogba a big miss for presence even if he been poor lately again.

This game had United sit back Liverpool start fast written all over it.
I couldn't have guessed United would go 2:0 up so quickly.
Booting it stops Liverpools press.

Ashley Young has been really good. I never realised what good defensive positioning he has.

If Scouse lose and Chelsea somehow win, brings everyone so close from 3rd to 5th again.
