Yeah those were both pretty miserable defensive lapses. Cant disagree there. I mean credit to the pressing and all but one was Messi trailing in behind 3 recovering defenders (and ahead of 2 who didnt bother to chase him)
the other was just a bad pass under nominal pressure. But either way you gotta give credit to both teams for capitalizing aswell. Pressuring like that on the City side atleast caused the unforced error in the first place.

Jumping down ?
Looks like he took a false step and got late on the dive, either because he didnt see it properly or just judged it poorly.

The second half is awesome, so many goal chances.

grats to city! pep done everything right tonight

Aaaand CL season over for Gladbach.
Stupid penalty and their chances are done.

I'm actually glad this is happening. Barça players really have the wrong attitude, despite having the 'level' to win tonight. They are totally disrespecting the tactical concept Pep put in place years ago and they're paying for it.
Pace might be 'entertaining' but it just transforms a game into a lottery, something Pep eliminated (or reduced as much as possible) when he took the team.
Front 3 is being extremely selfish and it's hurting the team a lot, individual players should never be above the team as a whole, even Messi. Before this game I read/heard that Barça players wanted to show Pep who really made them great, and the press/speed in the first half confirmed that feeling.
I know it's just one game, but this is very reminiscent of the Tito/Martino era. I hope this will just be a lesson and not the beginning of the end.

That woulda been an amazing goal for Lewandowski, shame it bounced off the bar and the post.

By "Barca players" do you mean Messi? Not a single other player on the pitch for Barca today played under Guardiola, as far as I can remember.
edit: forgot Mascherano and Busquets! I guess you always forget about them. I've watched the entire match and forgot they were playing!

Masch, Busquets. But yes, the squad is mostly different and I dont agree with the above sentiment anyway.

Ozil goal
holy fucking shit, master piece

Whether that rumor is true or not, their attitude tonight is wrong. Especially after what they did last weekend.
Anyway gg City, thank god Pep fielded Aguero xD

It's weird, considering Busquets' importance to the Guardiola-era Barca, how his name didn't even come into my head. I doubt he'd have a grudge against Pep anyway.
edit: wow, Griezmann.
