Especially not in relegation. Probably you are leading 2-1 in an awful game at home, but then a questionable pen at minute 95 gives Hamburg the 2-2. Then you will dominate in Hamburg, but only score once out of 30 shots. Hamburg then lucks in their first shot at minute 89 and you are staying down in league 2 due to away goals. | ||

So in this case, no sevilla player actually blocked LoS to the goal, yet no madrid player had asked for proper distance, so he took a shot. Had someone been/gotten in the way no re-take for madrid. | ||

That is what happened there, referee didn't signal so Madrid players were allowed to take a quick free kick and Sevilla was just caught unaware. You see players complaining about this every time it happens because it is still quite rare and most players don't know the rules all that well. e: exactly like Divine-Sneaker said, free kick can be taken quick but you lose the right to the 10y distance. If taking team insists on the distance, then the kick can only be taken after the referee has signaled | ||

In the Sevilla game, the ball is just randomly dead on the floor and the referee isn't even looking at play and he just strolls up and passes it into corner xD Here is a full youtube of the freekick goal vs Sevilla. | ||

edit: The quick free kick looks so unfair. But if that is the rules then fair enough. The players should know it. It's weird the players don't know this rule. But Riyad Mahrez's penalty that was ruled out 3 City players are instantly making 'two touches' gestures at the refree. They clearly know that rule. Maybe it just happens more often. For the record I didn't know either of those rules. But it's also not my job. | ||
