Not quite NHL news but this is HUGE. TLDR is that after the team won their game the coaching staff was canned and allegedly its because the owner was not happy with the ice time his son was getting

Ron Duguay ripped him apart for it on the Rangers postgame. that being said, Mats Zuccarello is turning into one of the best stories this season. missed most of the playoffs with a fractured skull and was unable to speak for several days, now he's leading the current best team in the NHL

Cause there wasn't already enough offense in the all-star game, right?

the regular asg is boring because pro hockey is pretty lame without the hitting, physicality, etc. 3v3 format pimps their new ot, touches on the shinny roots that everyone had growing up, and will be way more fun. also i think he's one of the biggest goddamn babies in the league right next to his canadian teammate, but Malkin is just smooth when he wants to be damn ![]()

![]() The Hawks are simply not physically capable of getting a two minute penalty. Only the most blatant of things are called against them while weak calls a plenty for their opponents.

Crawford has always reminded me of a slightly better Fleury. Starter yeah, and talented, but just kind of flawed in some inexplicable way that always keeps the other team in the game

Hes good enough that he won't be the reason you lose but will rarely ever steal you one

The Hawks are the softest team in the league and have been since the 2012-2013 season. They repeatedly get cheap shotted and run well after the puck is away by goon teams. On a rare occasion, one of those cheap shots gets called. Then the referees feel the need to do an evening out call and call the Blackhawks for a split-second hook or a stick-on-stick slash that the other team gets away with all the time. For a recent example, find the video of Daley's penalty versus the Oilers. He gets hooked and slashed, and the opponent's stick is still up around his arms as he's skating the puck. So he grabs it for a split second to get it off his body. He gets called for a holding. For a more classic example, try the video below from the 2013 Playoffs. Saad got run, punched in the face, then slammed to the ground (and also kicked in the head by Abdelkader, a nice on-purpose accident). And the referee calls both of them because Saad swiped at the other guys helmet while being thrown to the ground. Fucking ridiculous call that could have cost the Blackhawks a championship if the puck would have bounced Detroit's way in the overtime. Oh, and the Hawks are black, white, and RED. Not orange. He absolutely loses games for the Hawks. However, he occasionally pulls out a brilliant game. The good news is that he tends to do better when the pressure is the highest. The crappy thing is that he'll throw easy games at times and hopes that the offense can bail him out. I think he just doesn't prepare mentally for some games and that kills him. I've definitely seen him drunk (or very badly hungover) during one game where he left after the first period with an "upper body injury".
