wonder if the Hawks soured on Dano a bit? Ladd def helps them more this year and their window is starting to close a tad, but still. Bowman said he thinks Dano will be a good player for years to come, but for obvious reasons you're not going to publically bag on a player you just straded and alienate a potential trade partner down the road.

Bowman is probably the best GM in the league when it comes to getting trades done. Dano was alright with the Hawks. One of those wasn't bad could have some good upside or could never develop and be a career 3rd liner. Definitely a pricey cost for Ladd, but Ladd also fills the one big hole in the Hawks lineup and thats a first line LW. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks pull away from the Central now that Toews and Hossa have an actual LW to play with.

Yeah, Shaw is ok but 1st line LW he is not. But yeah pretty steep price for someone who is almost certainly a rental

The biggest problem with Dano for the Hawks is that hes a RW and the Hawks are absolutely loaded on the RW. Plus they also have Hartman in the AHL who is more or less the same exact player as Dano but a natural LW. Bowman has been taking the WIN NOW approach the last couple of years getting great rentals and occasionally good prospects.

Man if Shaw brings that kind of return not so sure I want the Bruins to extend Erickson. Loui's better than Shaw, I could see a better prospect a first and a second being the return.
