Good god did 44 misplay that one. If someone goes 1 vs 2, that weak side D should come over and take his head off, leaving the strong side D with cleanup duty. Instead he meekly poked at the puck and got walked while his partner expected help on the body, not the puck.

Sure, it was a great play by McDavid, but a clear botch by the defense.

yeah but 44 also got baited into doing what he did bc mcdavid let it the puck stretch so far and did that crazy ass drag to pull it back. the damn thought he was losing the puck and going to clean up vs going for the hit and leaving it open. goddamn.

Deserved. Probably will be appealed, but that's just standard procedure. If he had gotten checked for a concussion or anything like that then maybe 10 would have been okay, but because he chose not to then it almost has to be 20.

I think 20 is because of how much pressure the ref union put on the NHL.

As the rules are written I think it was a 10 game offence

Not that it means much since the pa had to but am appeal was filed.

I'd be really surprised if it was rescinded because he lit him up like you would a player in front of then net and the league and arbitrator probably aren't keen on setting thenprecedent that concussion basically means free for all
