It's like hes throwing a temper tantrum on the advice from his agent that it'll help him get out of Tampa faster. I hope Yzerman just buries his ass in the AHL until his ELC is up. I don't get it either...if he was smart, he would go down, play the best he could in the AHL, make himself look like a no brainer for other GMs (or even for JC and SY in Tampa) and then get the top6 time he thinks he deserves. There must be something else going on to make someone do something as stupid as this.

Like telling him the other day to skip an AHL game because a trade deal was almost done.....its like really? Guys get pulled out of fucking practice if a trade deal with them is almost done. If there really was a trade deal about to be finished he wouldn't have been told to play. Plus there were supposedly a good number of scouts at said AHL games to evaluate him. If he doesn't work his ass off and put up the numbers he thinks he should be getting at where ever he ends up he may end up being another top tier draft pick that ends up being a bust to his own ego.

In my honest opinion Steve Yzerman should let the kid rot. He holds the rights to him till 2022. Make him wait until then, effectively ruining his career. Only trade if the deal is high advantageous to the TBL.

That and when he was given top line minutes he had mediocre production. Having him rot in the AHL for the next year or two might actually be good for him if he pulls his head out of his ass and realizes acting like a spoiled 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum isnt going to get him what he wants and working his ass off and actually improving and producing points will. Currently he's an okish offensive threat and a liability on defense. Hell he got his ass benched for most of the Cup Final last year because he was leaving Teravainen open constantly in the first 2 games. this is totally wrong he scored at .46ppg clip getting something more like 3rd line minutes (13:14 to be exact). He never got top minutes, not even close. He doesn't have a full 82 through two seasons, so it is hard to say that's a proper sample size, but unquestionably he was not getting top minutes. A 40pt season for a 19 year old is pretty damn solid, even if the goals arent there. And stats say the team puts up a hell of a lot more shots on net than they let up when he plays. He is pretty obviously a net positive for the team. Sticking a 40 point 19 year old in the A is pants on head silly. What would he learn by smashing career pluggers on the first line in the A? A guy like that is never going to get defensive assignments in the A.
