Stadium is sold out, 55k are watching the game. Including 500 registered scouts. At halftime still 0-0, but Italy had about as many touches as messi has on national team titles. But following the first teams German system, Germany has the ball and no way to score.

Who are the German youths to watch in this tournament?

But Benjamin Henrichs and Philipp Ochs played a few games in the last Bundesliga season and while I didnt see all of them, the ones I saw looked very solid. But both of those are already 19. Gökhan Gül (17) is often rumoured to be standing out for his age, but as I said... Not paying too much attention to those hypes ![]() Germany won't produce any Messi or Ronaldo type footballer, so those German kids are almost always lacking the flashiness of other nations super kids.We are ust having the luxury of good goalkeepers and 9 really good, even though not brilliant players ![]() Even at youth level. And this is something I really blame Löw and his team for. They basically told the youth centres, that there is no demand or need for true strikers, but just this false 9 type. Yo... And now we will struggle for the next decade due to this. All we can do, is to hope that Timo Werner(20, just transfered to RB Leipzig) turns out godlike and carries us through this drought.

I am pretty sure we'd get way more goals and excitement if they awarded penaltys for that yeah agreed. I think if referees just came out prior to season start stating that this season, we are going to start really penalizing the corner/freekick-wrestling, and then the first round we saw an average of 3 penalties per game, then players would learn really quickly. The main problem I see is that this would necessarily have to be implemented everywhere at the same time - if this is not implemented in european tournaments, then playing without permitted wrestling for the rest of the season would be a big disadvantage, so no league is gonna go ahead and make this change on their own. Maybe they just don't want to anyway. Like I really think that 10 games into the season, we wouldn't really be seeing much more penalties than we do now, but corner goals would be far more frequent - and good jumpers would be even more valuable if they weren't held down and pushed so much.

I guess I could be wrong and it's not like he has a lot of pressure to succeed with Kane being the main striker. 22m, thats like 2 post stamps in the BPL. The clubs would feel insulted to buy anyone for less than 10m. Every goal he scored last season adds a million. Similar stuff with Hojberg. I doubt Bayern would have gotten half of those 15m, if he was transfered in Germany. I can only imagine the office of a European club manager. When an English number is calling, you get red alert everywhere, like your submarine was just spotted. This is the time to ensure your financing for the coming season!
