Most Bundesliga teams have never signed a player for 15 million or more, many have never even signed one for 10m.

The clubs would feel insulted to buy anyone for less than 10m. Every goal he scored last season adds a million. Similar stuff with Hojberg. I doubt Bayern would have gotten half of those 15m, if he was transfered in Germany. I can only imagine the office of a European club manager. When an English number is calling, you get red alert everywhere, like your submarine was just spotted. This is the time to ensure your financing for the coming season! Everyone on battle stations! Not sure if you're being serious but that's a lot of money for Tottenham. At least 2-3 players will have to be sold now to offset Wanyama and Janssen. Pochettino wanted Batshuayi first but couldn't even compete financially with Crystal Palace, let alone Chelsea.

I am pretty sure we'd get way more goals and excitement if they awarded penaltys for that yeah agreed. I think if referees just came out prior to season start stating that this season, we are going to start really penalizing the corner/freekick-wrestling, and then the first round we saw an average of 3 penalties per game, then players would learn really quickly. The main problem I see is that this would necessarily have to be implemented everywhere at the same time - if this is not implemented in european tournaments, then playing without permitted wrestling for the rest of the season would be a big disadvantage, so no league is gonna go ahead and make this change on their own. Maybe they just don't want to anyway. Like I really think that 10 games into the season, we wouldn't really be seeing much more penalties than we do now, but corner goals would be far more frequent - and good jumpers would be even more valuable if they weren't held down and pushed so much.
Obviously all FAs have to do this at the same time but that shouldn't be hard for UEFA/FIFA... All this wrestling is one of many reasons defensive systems are so prominent now. No one is afraid of corners or freekicks anymore (and usually the more active teams have a huge majority on corners compared to the defensive side) - defenders just hug the opposition -> no goal will be scored. Actually, its just a waste of time.

He looked good in the Eredivisie, but he has only played one season at the highest level here so I'm honestly not convinced he's up to the challenge. I think being a backup is perhaps the smart choice here, as he doesn't have the instant pressure to perform. With the supply he can get from Spurs, I think 5-10 goals is doable for him definitely. Which I think Spurs would be happy with.

At least in Germany you can watch in on freetv on Eurosport. Not sure how it is elsewhere. Otherwise you will surely find a stream online, if you are looking for it
oh: and 1-0 England after 2 minutes.

Oh noes, England setting it up again. 2-0, 9 minutes in. They will be hailed the greatest talents ever, expected to win a title with the first team in 4 years. Yo, and we know how it ends!

Schweinsteiger married Ana Ivanovic today. Their first contact happened at feb 2015. Grats to both!
I took a closer look at german taxes last year. From financial view. If you earn >510,000€ yearly you dont get any tax advantages anymore. Difference stays until 18,000€ between lone and married earner yearly. Who cares if you pay 18k more or less taxes yearly if you earn >10m (like Schweinsteiger) a year?
Very similiar in many countries.
I do understand that Messi and CR7 are lone... taxes suck at that point. Far too afraid to lose the half of your money if your relationship doesn't work anymore.
Yeah its all about love but divorce rate is >40% in all eu countries and rather 60% if you are millionaire.

that is fucking hilarious. lincoln red imps had played 4 champions league qualification matches prior to this. they lost 3-6 vs Torshavn (from Faroe Islands), 0-3 vs midtjylland (denmark) and they won 2-1 vs santa coloma (from Andorra) and 3-2 vs Flora Tallin (Estonia).
Celtic beat Barcelona 4 years ago, now they lose against a team from a country with (this is hilarious) a total population around 2/3 of Celtic's average attendance the previous season
