Security at Old Trafford has been noticeably increased in the past 12 months due to intel that's been received. The thinking at United, of late, has been that they are prepared for something to happen and there is an awareness that the profile of the club and the sheer number of people who can be squeezed into OT makes them a target. In fact the glass front of the stadium has been coated in a shatterproof substance. What makes today's events of major concern is that there has always been a confidence that security would be tight enough for nothing to get into the Stadium. I guess you could argue that they should've pushed for Pep when he was available, or Klopp when he was available, but it seems to me a difficult business to fire Wenger for someone unknown, and it seems similarly difficult to try to get someone known without first firing Wenger.. | ||
