i think the guy in the video is claiming this "Rob" guy is secretly getting money from "HairGuard". "HairGuard" makes some kind of head band that supposedly increases blood flow to your scalp. I'm tellin' ya... you can't make this stuff up.

This information warfare is like 80s pro wrestling interviews.

"the vaccines are a calculated risk"

you can not take the vaccine and get Covid and increase your probability of heart arrythmia for months afterwards.
you can take the vaccine and create a risk for arrythmia.

There is a degree of risk in both choices. Maybe in 5 years a gang of Actuaries and Virologists will tell us which one was the better choice.

I eventually didn't take the vaccine primarily because of political reasons and the risk of covid being so low for me. I ended up getting covid once, developed a very soar throat for a few days and got better.

From all the "anti vaccine stuff" I read, it was pretty clear the leaner you were, the "riskier" the vaccine was, while covid was the exact opposite. Thanks for sharing the vid, will check later !

A few days after this I hit a 400 lb squat for the first time in a few years on my 33rd bday and then promptly fell apart lol. My ankle got tied up in a nasty rugby tackle and dislocated. Luckily made it out with only some light low ankle sprains but pretty much ended up my rugby season as I sat out the next couple games and then we got knocked out of playoffs. A bit after the ankle, I got a random case of gnarly elbow bursitis (going back for a 2nd draining tomorrow) out of nowhere and also strained my left thigh, likely from overuse to compensate for my right ankle. I'm at least moving around normally and able to ride my bike again but still pretty week and my heavy lifting/sprinting/jumping is still not quite back yet.

once you are over 35 and squating more than double your body weight it is wise to have your intraocular eye pressure tested during an eye exam at least once per year. inform your eye doctor you are squating heavy.

If you have been squatting for years before hand, your body is well prepared to handle the high intra abdominal pressure. I think this is a non issue. Can't believe I'll be 35 in less than 2 years.

At 33 I'm still getting better at most things, don't quit on yourselves early !

true dat. I'm still making progress on some lilfts, while the big three has just kind of remained the same through the years (some progress still, but not a lot).

Also, came back to the forum to find this thread again and can't believe it's still a thing. Hope you are all doing well <3

Get out your popcorn. We got dueling Drs here. This is good stuff.

TL;DR blood cholesterol levels are a vague marker for risk of atherosclerosis. You need to dig deeper if your blood cholesterol levels are high. Go see a Cardiologist. You need your apo-b levels examined.

I avoid these fake meats.

abdominal pressure and intra ocular eye pressure are totally different things.
intra ocular eye pressure rises substantially during the squat.

I suggest an annual appointment with an ophthalmologist who checks your intra ocular eye pressure and examines your macula and retina. You can't determine your eye pressure based on your abdominal pressure.

If you read the "study", it simply proved stoners prefered to run high as opposed to sober. Excercising high is extremely dangerous for yourself and even others.

Obviously I read it, and yes there are caveats as I said. First, why do you have to an ass? Second feel free to post the study about how it’s dangerous for the person and others. If you can’t do not make up shit you think sounds true.

You don't need a "study" to know you might hurt yourself or others moving around or picking heavy stuff up in an impaired mental state.

lol!! Exactly what I thought. You made it up and stated it like fact. Of course you could study it in a controlled environment. Not to mention CBD doesn’t even create an impaired mental state. It is so clear you have zero idea what you are talking about.

Honestly think about all the stuff in the world you have guessed on and got wrong. Or do you really think all your assumptions are facts? And then the arrogance to “teach” others what you make up. You are basically defining ignorance.

Please don't go high to a gym, ride a bike or get into a pool.

Name: Thunderjunk
Age: XX || Height: 6'1" || Weight: 175 lbs
Starting Date: 2/6/24 || Goal Date: 8/17/24
Weight goals -- I'm going for a basic body recomp but keeping it at the same weight. If it fluctuates I don't care.
Training goals -- I'm gonna participate in my first 70.3 at June Lake in California. It's a tough race and I'l probably finish worse than average but just finishing is the goal. Placing in the 50th percentile would be fantastic.
Nutrition goals -- At least 100 g protein every day, and otherwise get a good balance of macros and micros. I've been advised I'll need to increase the protein intake to about 175 to have the bodybuilder amount, but my gut needs to work up to that.
Sleep goals -- 8ish hours every night. A little more hopefully. I get home at 8:40, so if I'm asleep within 15 minutes, I'll be able to get up at 5 and be okay
Misc/stress goals -- Can't let things pile up, so I'm just gonna spend a TON of time at the office. Otherwise, mom is home to help with food and cleaning. Gonna need to quit weed soon, too. That's the last major vice I have that obstructs my training / health. Hopefully I'll be off it by Feb 17.
I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

You shouldn't find it too hard to increase protein steadily. Adding a egg or two to a meal gets you a long way, then snacking on something rich in protein will do wonders.

Also, to say you're going to fight stress by spending more time at the office sounds completely backwards. I would stop and think about that one. Probably much better to set boundaries at work and reduce your time in the office if you can. (spoiler: you can)

Best of luck with the iron-man!

I'd just let to close out my comedic look at "hair loss science" with a serious note.

On average, men have the most hair on their head around April 1. Men have the least hair on their head at the end of summer. Men go through a hair shedding cycle at the end of summer. This accounts for the decrease in hair volume from April 1 to say September 21.

"Scientific studies", that want to prove a great new hair growth technique works, are timed to occur from September to April or May. The average male will have more hair even if they do nothing. This is how the super shadey hair growth industry backs up their claims with "scientific studies".

A similar thing occurs with the natural vision improvement industry. Now, I am a firm believe that your vision habits impact your vision to a large degree. I am not claiming that all natural vision improvement industry people are total frauds. However, the natural vision improvement people all bring out their #1, big money maker programs in March for people living in the northern hemisphere. This is because being outside A LOT improves your vision A LOT. My vision is at its worst at the beginning of March and it is at its best in September. For most people living in Canada and the northern USA this is a common pattern. A big error myopic people make is getting a strong prescription in March when their condition might only be temporary. They end up making a temporary condition very hard to treat via adopting better vision habits.

Any how, the natural vision improvement industry is going hit its increasingly myopic consumer base hard this month.

Nice, I had no idea of neither. Basically every "common knowledge" can be disputed with some nuance.

A while back I read "big nappy" had basically convinced people that babies are 100% stupid until like 1.5 years, but that within a month of age the baby will tell you he wants to poop in some way and you can teach him fairly easily not to shit himself (with pee it's harder according to the same source). Before that I had not even considered the possibility of it. I have no kids yet so no practical knowledge there.
