My buddy I mentioned earlier that ruptured his Achilles hit a 110kg sn, 130kg cj, and 182kg front squat last month, 4-5 months post op O.O Insane recovery.
Thats nuts and mos def not the norm from what I've seen. Most recover very well but it just takes a long long time.
I'd personally opt to not go for a surgery if it happened to me.

What do you guys think about standing or walking desks?
I will probably work from home soon and was thinking about a standing desk because I noticed that whenever I was working from home in the past I was sitting even more than normal (in the office).
A standing desk seems doable but a walking setup is expensive in money and space.
I only work about 25h a week. Should I just set a timer and take a break from sitting every X minutes or are these things worth it?

Sitting and sitting for 8 hours are both not great. Just try to move around and take breaks from whatever you're doing for extended periods of time

I went for surfing desk at home. Adjustable desk and something like this below. Much cheaper than a treadmill and highly effective I find.

So I'm starting up some training again. I've maybe done 10 workouts a year for the last 4-6 years so I'll likely keep it simple for the first few weeks and work up some volume.
Bit rusty on programming since I mostly just worked up to a heavy single to triple back in the day with some random accessory work.
So my question is should I keep it full-body in the beginning or is there a program that you'd recommend for me?
Goals are for now: Bench Press 100kg, Squat 150kg and Deadlift 200kg with a <60min 10km run somewhere along the line.
Today's workout:
Squat: 80kg 5-5-5 Bench: 50kg 5-5-5 Deadlift: 120kg 5
All felt pretty strong, excepting a small ache at the proximal biceps attachment during the bench but I reckon that will go away with time.

Welcome back sJarl time to track in Fitocracy again haha
I've been enjoying having days focused on one major lift rather than multiple but there's merits to all the respectable programs. I'd just pick one that you'll stick to and can easily follow whether it's StrongLifts, 5/3/1, one of Greg Nuckol's free programs.
Good luck!
Also, anyone else watch Martins qualify at Santa Monica this weekend. Sick competition and what an ending!

Thanks! I'll think about the Fitocracy part haha, but great to see so many old "faces" again.
But thanks for those reccomendation. I've ran 5/3/1 with variations successfully in the past but I'll check out SL and Greg's programs. Starting with some full body stuff for now for a couple of weeks / months to get used to it again.
Todays workout:
Front Squat: 60kg 5-5-5 Military Press: 40kg 5-5-5 Chin-ups: -35kg 5-5-5
BW 96.5kg.
Will likely alternat the first workout and this one, going 3 times a week. Work is unpredictable but 3x / week should be doable.

This PCT I’m on is making it so hard to concentrate at work. I feel like I’m in high school again. Any pretty girl that walks by me I have the need to stare and I can’t stop looking -_-
Fitness update: Post cycle I still feel great. Slight dip in sexual drive and I’m feeling fatigue periods throughout my day, but I’m still maintaining my “max” numbers and my workouts don’t feel like I’m dying. I’m prolly not gonna go on Tren ever again, though. As it was advised here it’s really not needed for average numbers.

Seems like your PCT is working great for you. Might suggest you see a doc to take some bloods to check if your hormones have returned to normal at some point?
Did workout A again today, same numbers as I was plenty sore from Wednesday's workout.

Could be that there is no need to rush to have the bloods done until after a few weeks post PCT since it could be that they are still just recovering from the cycle.
How come you are only take half dose though? Been ages since I since I was reading up on steroids, dosages and PCT though.

On work out days I take the full dosages for the day (3 in the morning, 3 before workout). But on days where I dont go gym I just take 3 in the morning. So since I go gym only every other day Im on a 3/4 regimen.

Finally was able to go to the gym after injury hell, and felt....OK. Rotator cuff still a bit sore, but actually resting it for a couple didn't seem to do much, while after Wednesday (first workout) it actually felt better!! The whole active recovery thing totally makes sense, at least anecdotally I do think I needed to stay off it for a bit first too though, since it was super super sore all the time at first.
|
Active recovery is a wonderful thing!
Today’s workout: BB Squat: 85kg 5-5-5 (+5kg) BB Bench: 52.5kg 5-5-5 (+2.5kg) Deadlift: 125kg 1x5 (+5kg)
Felt overall better and lighter than the previous workouts and all the small aches and nibbles were less pronounced. Well see how workout B feels on Wednesday. Last week was super busy so only got in one workout but the “rest” must’ve worked out nicely.

Good work, way to stick with it

Little milestone, pulled 455 today! Going to keep grinding technique!

Corona: So I am coming home Saturday. I have already stripped all public/social interaction out of my schedule for the next couple of weeks.
But the question remains: Do I still go to gym? Is there a way to safely go to the gym? Can I ethically justify going to the gym?

No, the gym is worse than any of those activities.
