I agree, I'm tired of the same similar matches all the years in both group stage and knock-ups.
I definitely don't agree. The best 16/8 teams should make it to the 2nd round/QF, not 16/8 random teams. With this system, 2nd round and quarter finals will generally be much more one-sided, while only a couple of groups will be interesting. The weaker groups will not attract much attention anyway, since people know the advancing teams will be eliminated shortly. So the only exciting matches left will be semifinal/final and those 2 strong groups without Barca/Real/Bayern.
The best teams can still make it if they actually play well. The only difference is that they can now get in a group of death as well instead of ajax being in one every year. Seeds are a way to give the good clubs another advantage they don't really need.
Seeds are also there to make sure that pot2 teams can advance and collect the money they 'need'. Ajax may advance one year, and still get 3rd in the group behind Leverkusen and Arsenal the next year. I don't think introducing extra luck of the draw is a good idea, both for the competition itself, as well as the consistency of finances of the clubs participating. But you may think it is.
I'm all for ajax or us not being in a group of death all the time, xP. Btw statistically us and ajax always draw the toughest opponents, wtf is up with that. This season they had barca in the group, we had juve. We both fell to europa and we both got eliminated by dnipro who is in the europa final.
And now Costa tried to choke someone, both got cautioned after a scuffle and Fabregas shot the ball at the group of WBA players and the ref and was sent of for it
Heh, nice seedings! People worried about not seeing interesting matches - there are so many matches on one night that there will always be an interesting match

Either violent conduct or unsporting behaviour. I mean you could argue that he is trying to get the ball to the spot of the foul, but that was way too much power for it to be unintentional. edit: penalty call2:0 WBA Terry allowed to continue on his quest to play every minute.

Mate, its pretty obvious that these guys already see themselves on vacation somewhere and don't really care about the rest of the games. Costa just needs to go to Brazil for a bit and rest
edit: idk what even happened with the Fabregas incident, my first thought would be he kicked it at random and it hit a WBA player in the head.
Rofl CONMEBOL just forfeited South America's fifth spot at the 2018 World Cup because they wouldn't properly punish Boca Juniors(a fan of theirs threw some shit that's worse than pepper spray on River Plates' tunnel during a Libertadores match - a River player had to be hospitalized because the gas caused encephalitis). FIFA wanted a five international competition ban, but CONMEBOL only eliminated them from the competition.
Yeah, UEFA is bad, but CONMEBOL is on a whole other level of shit.

He was vital this season in the league, him and Fabregas were running the show in the first half.
Nice game last night, was interesting to see west brom approach and they went hard and made a good game. Shame we dropped to 10 men kind of ruined our chances that but we still dominated the ball and looked good in spells. Oh well, 3-0 defeat after we won the title is acceptable.
In other news to cheer me up after;
Raheem Sterling has no plans to sign new Liverpool deal
Raheem Sterling is set to resume contract talks with Liverpool later this week but intends to tell them he does not plan to sign a new deal, according to Sky sources.
Sky sources say it is because he feels the club have tried to bully him into signing a new contract - and that he does not think they have protected him from negative headlines.
Sterling is also angry that details of earlier contract offers have been leaked.
