In tough situations, the Oilers man-down and find a way to lose. Grab defeat out of the jaws of victory. edit: Is RNH hurt? Would be incredible to see the Oilers ice Draisaitl/Gordon/Arcobello/Acton vs. Kopitar/Carter/Richards/Stoll tonight. That would qualify as child abuse. Oh and Eberle might be out too? If he's injured that would explain why he has looked so poor thus far this season.

Classic Vancouver. If RNH got injured on this play I will be angry(er).

#mcdavid edit: Only thing that would make sense is if there is some kind of trade being finalized - i.e., RNH injury caused Petry to be involved in a trade for another center. In which case... I'm ready to be disappointed. Also, here is some footage of Petry at Oilers' practice today:

Midway through 2 and they have had 1 scoring chance worth mentioning. All LA all game Its okay, its a moment they'll remember for the rest of their lives. I still remember when i got to stand on the blueline near Doug Weight during the anthem. Getting to see all the stars motivated me so much. Who knows, maybe some of these kids will get drafted! But seriously... what the fuck is this. Clearly the team is not prepared, clearly the coach sucks, clearly the team needs different guidance. There is losing games, and then there is getting shit on like this. This is probably the worst game I've seen in the last 8 years. Even worse than that drubbing to the Hawks.

They've also gone through 3 first overalls, maybe talent isn't the problem either. That being said, the Coaches they have had were over the hill MacT, over the hill Quinn, Renney who every thought they fired way too soon, a rookie, and another rookie. Jesus. Imagine if they just bit the bullet and hired Trotz in the summer. This organization is such a joke.

I expected a failure year and I'm still disappointed. Its one thing to go out and lose a good game, but this is just not even a hockey game. This is the kings trying their best to not hurt our feelings.

At this point, I hope the Oilers trade Taylor Hall. He is such an incredible player and does not deserve to have his career languish in a go-nowhere organization like this. #FreeHall edit: Nice of the Oilers App to keep me informed of the happenings last night! ![]() edit again: There is a conspiracy theory that Petry was scratched so that Eakins could demonstrate to MacTavish precisely how awful this team is without Marincin and Petry. MacT wants to trade Petry and has put Marincin in the AHL in order to provide space for his new hires (Fayne and Le Femme Nikitin).

They have made some positive steps in fixing the mess left behind by Tambellini but it is going to take more time - especially if MacTavish insists on missing twice for every hit. The Oilers, for years, have been about 2/3rds of an NHL team - always with glaring roster holes. The defense has been a massive issue ever since Pronger left. The last period of consistent goaltending (minus a brief blip of Dwayne Roloson) was Curtis Joseph. They have one NHL center who actually shaves. And when you're 2/3rds of an NHL team playing in the toughest conference, you are always looking at disaster - disaster which becomes inevitable after one or two injuries. There is no depth because they can't even fill a regular roster with NHL players when everyone is healthy. What a joke of a franchise.
