Sharp in Dallas! BTW, I have been playing the new EHM on steam and was wondering if any of you guys play it? The games looks very similar to the 2007 but any sort of update is welcome :D

Also Seguin + Benn only cost 11m/year for the next 2 years so the Stars pretty much want to win something right now before they cost Toews + Kane level money. Sharp is a great asset if he can continue to produce for a couple years. Niemi competing with Lehtonen should avoid the .910 goaltending nightmare of last year. Anyways if you can score 6 goals a game running Benn + Seguin + Spezza + Sharp then you don't need defense mwuhahahaha

Looking at their D, Goligoski at the age of 29 is the oldest, Jordie Benn is 27, and the rest are 23 or younger. Should be interesting to see how they do.

The rest of the team is obviously a different story, even if Daley wasn't a big piece to lose. They've got a bunch of dmen who might be fine as a 2nd pairing cog but they don't really have even one bonafide top pairing guy. Which as noted might be mitigated by a stud in net but they don't even have antyhing close to that.

in news that will make the exiled one mad, FANCY STATS are now eligible in arbitration hearings. They have to be the NHL official ones though.

Yikes! http://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl/chicago-blackhawks-allegedly-traded-patrick-sharp-due-to-cheating-scandal/ar-AAcVWfT Even without a scandal like that, Sharp was either the 1st or 2nd most overpaid Blackhawk (along with Bickell, who just didn't seem right this year... maybe a nagging injury). Sharp went -8 in +/- when the team average was +3.3 during the regular season and was right on the average at +2 versus the team's +2.1 for the playoffs. He also got reduced power play time compared to prior years where he'd often go out as a defenseman for the PP due to his shooting skills. His shooting skills aren't what they used to be and he spent most of the playoffs on the Blackhawk's 3rd line (although Quenville doesn't run his lines like a normal coach). However, Sharp did show some signs of life in the finals when he got paired with Toews and Hossa, so maybe he could be better in Dallas if paired with some top notch defensive forwards who also move the puck extremely well offensively. Otherwise, he's a negative +/- player on a positive team with very little role to make up for it. As a Blackhawk fan, I was just happy to see them get his contract off the books. He's not the player that he used to be and he's taking up a big chunk of the salary cap to be mediocre. That they got anything in return is a nice bonus. The only question in my mind is whether they had to give up Johns. He posted very good numbers for Rockford and seems like he should be ready for the NHL while being young enough to continue to improve as a player. Johns could end up being the steal in the deal. If it wasn't for that, I would have said that the Blackhawks absolutely stole from the Stars in this deal.

I mean wasn't that the story on twitter several months back and then the person who came out to say it got slammed?
