I think Westbrook is, I just don't know if either of those is a good thing. Well put. Alpha dog is the best way to explain the difference between the two mentalities.

Everything you see on the court in terms of heart and leadership tells you this is WBs team, not KDs. In this series, they'd probably even put Ibaka in front of KD in terms of importance, though they'd be wrong since the Thunder are so poorly put together they literally only have 4 people that can consistently score on the ENTIRE team. Blow it up! Indy and OKC should figure something out. Somewhere in there is two really good teams that are logically put together.

OKC had no depth, and frequently no offensive playbook, I don't see how either of those are failures of KD. How many points did OKC end up with from their bench? Was it just the one Fisher 3 or was their more at some point? E: Kudos to Jerubaal for predicting the close game in spite of grief from the community, you should make this happen more often.

Seems so appropriate for WB's last shot

You could clearly see at several points Durant was frustrated with teammates (mostly Jackon/WB) for not getting him the ball when he was open. Just because he doesn't throw his teamates! under the bus publicly doesn't make him not a leader. Or is Lebron back to not being a winner because he passed to an open Bosh in the corner and then they lost? To play devils advocate; the fact he can't get them to do what he wants, despite being the MVP, means they either don't respect him as a leader or think they can do it better. Neither is good. Brooks deserves a lot of blame too though.

It's not fair to say they would be there without Westbrook, or that playing without him makes the team better. That's simply not true. I think the distinction between the mentality of a lot of the elites and what I've seen from Durant is that Westbrook, not Durant, seems to be the one who wants the ball, and he's gonna throw your nuts in a vice if you don't give him the damn ball. Perhaps it's the frenetic pace at which he plays, but it seems that Durant isn't that guy. I don't know if it's something he can change, and I think it's good that there's only one of those guys (usually two can't coexist), I just think it's unfortunate that it's not KD who seems to be the crazed lunatic of the pair. As for Jerubaal's prediction, he said "closer" IIRC. It's easy to be closer than 20 points

Maybe KD leaves OKC. That would be glorious retribution for Sonics fans. I need to add it to the list of sports things I wish would happen but never will.

Seems to me like KD gets a pass.

@On_SLaught: He does. And KD has been on loaded teams from the get go that Kobe/Wade/Lebron/Paul didn't get. All of those guys got absolutely dogged for not winning vs superior teams with subpar casts. If KD loses again the wolves will probably be out.

He doesn't belong there. Durant has been to the finals once and the conference finals twice and he's only just entering his prime. His time will come. And if I recall the Kobe/Shaq tandem was pretty dominant. Doesn't hurt when you have one of the GOAT coaches as well.
