Do you mean why not just throw take-outs every shot? If you have hammer you're trying to score at least 2, so you need some rocks to stay in play to have a chance. If you don't then just trying to play a clean end isn't a bad strategy. However, there is an important rule called the Free Guard Zone. You aren't allowed to remove enemy rocks from play in the first four shots (unless they're in the house). This allows you to set up a bit of protection in your first shots. This rule was actually introduced for the very thing you're talking about, the pros were too good at just taking everything out. Sloppy shots from Russia and Canada takes advantage big time to score 4 in the fifth! | ||
