i wonder if babcock is dumb enough to put subban back on the bench
dude's every bit as good as hammyham in his own end but is so much better on offense
|
PK Subban is not as good as Hamhuis defensively.....

they should just give us the gold right now, there's obviously no contest. ;D

I don't understand why you hate Patrick Chan. Is it because he is a better goalie than Marc Andre Fleury?

so with this comment you're trying to say Marc Andre Fleury is a bad goalie i hear Jonathan Bernier sucks too..

Shit I was hoping the US/Russia game would have been a bit later than 7:30 am -_-
Canada looked good today. Glad to see Carter get a hat trick because he was getting ragged on way too much in their first game. Getzlaf's goal was such a beauty, too. Hopefully they can bring a similar level to the Finland game.

Austria does not belong on the same ice. Where Canada's passing was blah and awful most of last game it has improved 100 fold. Austria virtually never has the puck. Quick has been the better goalie for a few years. I'd take either guy in net TBH but since I get a choice there's nobody I'd rather have in my crease in any game than Quick Quick had two good seasons. This season and the last wasn't that great, and he just came back from an injury.

Miller is the better goalie imo, and should start against the Russians as he plays against them in the East. Not to mention, his stats spanning the past years have been better than Quick's overall, despite him playing for the awful Sabres and Quick playing for a solid Kings team. Miller was also the MVP in the 2010 Olympics so he has the experience to back it up, as well.

Hmm with Quick in net I think this game will be closer than expected. Now the hard part will be waking up in time lol.

Well we only need one goal :D Not entirely sure, if it's us playing really well or is Slovakia kinda poor.
bam, that's it :D
|
Didn't watch the game against Russia, but from the highlights you guys didn't fare too bad and are now up 2-0 here against Slovakia, so I'd say playing really well.
|
wow 3-0!! Nice goal by Kopitar.
Not to take away from Slovenia, but this kinda makes me question how valid the USA's domination of Slovakia really was and makes me regret staying up right before their game against Russia
|
Well I guess Slovakia is self destructing a bit right now
|
|
well with a win for slovenia here, usa will have a lot of weight off their shoulders and the russians even more. should be an interesting game.
gratz slovenia on your first ever olympic win!
|
It's awesome to see their team spirit and you could really see they were pretty disappointed that they let that one goal in at the end I guess with this, if other matches go as they should, we're playing winner between Austria-Norway?
|
Thanks to Slovenia for rewarding me for getting up at 3am. Nice upset win.

PK Subban fubar-ed at least 1 line change badly and 1 semi badly. he fucked up when drew doughty pinched leading to an Austrian breakaway.
Subban is way more talented than Hamhuis in terms of basic puck handling , acceleration , skating etc. Subban's flaw or achilles heel is that he makes BAD DECISIONS.
In terms of raw/pure talent in the very basics of the game , Subban is the best defenseman on team canada. in terms of decision making, he is amongst the worst , if not the worst player on the team.
which is a cryin' shame. these facts lead to me to agree with how Babcock has used Subban thus far in the tourney. I do not expect to see much of Subban in this tournament unless someone gets hurt.
To get an idea of the bad decisions Subban sometimes makes it helps to watch him in a LIVE GAME where you can see the entire ice surface at all times. I've seen him twice in Montreal so i'm mainly going on that plus what i've heard retired NHL defensemen have said about the guy.
