2,000 out of how many? if 2,000 out of 10,000...80% capacity is still pretty good

I dunno, seems fairly comparable % to guys like Dirk, Love and Lee. As I said, I don't watch much of the Blazers but it looks like he needs to get to the line a lot more given that volume. Particularly if he's not going to shoot the three. To me this indicates he's taking a few more jumpers than he should. Anyone who watches the Blazers confirm how he's playing?

He only goes inside for easy ones, and he doesn't shoot threes. His shots are mostly spot up mid rangers, and if he's in a tough spot he uses that turn around that he's known for. Naturally his shot selection doesn't get many FTs, so even though he does hit that turn around at an impressive clip, he's doomed to be forever inefficient.

He's far below Dirk and Love. He illustrates the classic problem of not being elite at the rim or from distance, so where does he get most of his offense from?
Thing is if you're going to be a midrange shooter at heavy volume you need to be canning them at an absurd rate just to keep up with league average. Right now LMA is in Blake Griffin territory from midrange %s wise (I need to dbl check this to make sure) but not close around the rim.
|
So he's taking the jumpers due to inability/lack of confidence around the rim?
If so, I'm surprised he hasn't tried to work a three pointer into his game. Sounds like his game is a recipe for disaster if he starts running cold in the mid-range and has no plan B.

Seems like a lot of his jump shots are only a fraction inside the three point line as well, but he never steps out to shoot the 3.

I don't get why Vogel doesn't take a TO. I like the idea of making your team sort out opponent runs on their own, but George and Hibbert can clearly use a breather.

Last season in Oracle Arena, PG didn't score. That was the game that really kicked things off for him. After that game, when they got back to Indy that night he went to the gym and put up 500 shots. Next game against Chicago, at Chicago, he puts up 34 points (14-25), 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 3 steals and led the Pacers to a 80-76 win. It also got the Pacers back to .500. Crazy how far he has come in 1 season.
And Friday I will get to see him in person for the first time since he really established himself.

The Rockets are at 100.3% for the season. The Kings have made a huge jump up thanks to new ownership, were sub 80% last year and are at 92% this year. Bobcats are at 78.6%
