Chelsea put a contract saying if you play him againsts us in Europe you pay us more money for his services. What the hell is wrong with that? They knew that from Summer 2013. What were the odds on us meeting in the champions league so Atletico accept that conditions but now UEFA say nope we say he plays for free.
I personally dont mind if he plays or not, i think he shouldn't play for free if that contract terms agreed. If Atletico cannot afford that agreement why agree to it?
I'm okay with Athletico paying a premium for a direct meeting, but please three million per game is absurd. Drop a zero and it would be okay.

They agreed to it? ;_; Thats why i dont see them having a leg to stand on, why say ok i sign contract. To now say we cant afford that ;_;
Oh well, i'll wait for Mourinho's comments, i dont mind if he plays or not but i know he is more than a match winner on his own let alone Costa and co.

Go Atletico! Nice draw, ultimate defences in one tie, ultimate offences in the other, xD.

Yeah no argument there. Did they atleast start fighting it right away or did this just start now that it might actually be a problem?

Indeed reason it's going be good games for all football fans. High scoring exhilarating fast paced attacking football in the one and solid counters and defensive master classes in the other. Yummy.
Other good thing is an underdog is in the final which is nice :D

Came out in the Media on Wednesday i believe so im not sure. Only the two clubs know the deal though.
Media reports suggested Chelsea and Atletico agreed a clause in the keeper's contract that the Madrid team would pay around £5m in compensation if the clubs clashed in European competition. And Atletico have indicated that they would not be prepared to field him at that price, and would abide by the agreement with the Blues.
Is the media report wording they have in the Sky Sports News article.

Yeah that just seems like they leaked it now that it might actually happen. In this case I'm with you, they should pay even if that was the last time such a clause is used.

Yeah, but i understand everyone else QQ when arguably 2nd best player for Atletico? behind Costa cannot play in their biggest game in years could be a bit annoying. Maybe they could do a kickstarter or something? Get the funds to let him play that way :3 HAHAHA

Woah, I just caught up with this. Chelsea so underhanded one more time.

Of course the final is open but i think the favorite comes out of this match. Whats interesting is is that since 06/07 every CL winner had to beat Barca in the playoff stages.

Courtois is finally playing against Chelsea. I guess UEFA wanted to earn more money for a better match. Without him Atletico has no chance xD

Also for the last what is it, 5 or 6 years, it's either barca winning or the team that beat barca, inter/chelsea/bayern.

"As we, in line with the FIFA regulations on status and transfer of players, consider a loan to be a transfer, we do not have any regulations regarding players not playing against their parent club whilst on loan to another club. If a player is duly registered on the player list of IF Elfsborg then he can play against any team that Elfsborg are drawn against." "Any agreement between the two clubs that this player wouldn’t play against Celtic should Elfsborg be drawn against them is purely between the clubs. UEFA would not have any involvement or consideration of this agreement, it would be neither endorsed or enforceable by UEFA."http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/celtic/233438-mo-bangura-could-feature-against-celtic-for-loan-club-if-elfsborg/ Yeah, fuck you too Platini.

actually Milan won 06/07 without beating Barca (they lost ro16 to liverpool) but you're right that since 07/08 the eventual winners always knocked out Barca.

Chelsea agreed to comply with UEFA's regulations when they signed up for the Champions League. And this clause violates these regulations.
Legally Chelsea might be in the right, and could enforce the contract clause.
But it does not matter. You do not want to be on the wrong side of UEFA. If you want to participate in future UEFA competitions, you better abide to their rules. I guess Chelsea will let it slide, at least if they know what's good for them.

Now whenever it has something to do with Chelsea UEFA make shit up as they go along, and we all know who always gets the short end of the stick.
