What a bummer! Dortmund have had a lot of bad luck this season
Ribery is also out for the game with a broken rib. Time for Xherdan Shaqiri I hope : D He's injured too : /
Piszczek is a beast but he hasn't played since CL finals...
I was watching this and it reminded me of the roughness vs diving discussion. Personally, I'd like to watch every harsh tackle result in a red card, no if's and but's, if you are going with the intense to cause harm you are out. After we are done with the mma fighters mistaken for football players we can start punishing diving as well.
I agree Steve, if people are clearly attempting to injure someone then they should be sent off. I don't think the diving/roughness are mutually exclusive problems to tackle though, you can get both at the same time. Dangerous tackles are fairly obvious, dives are harder to spot.

On the other hand, tackles can damage or even end a players career, unlike dives. Case in point: Pedro Mantorras was meant to be a truly great player - billed as the next Eusebio, at the turn of the century he was ravaging the Portuguese league until it literally became "hack-a-Mantorras"... until he got a knee injury which combined with possible medical negligence ruined his career.

Pepe deserves to be in a prison more than he deserves to be on a football pitch.
Props to Messi for never fighting back after receiving all those dirty fouls. He's a much bigger man than I; I definitely would have gotten up and punched a few of those cunts in the face.
What makes Pepe scary is that he gets away with many of his fouls. La Liga would do well to follow EPL's example of at least doing retrospective bans.

Punching isn't the only way to get back at someone , I feel Barcelona could use someone with a bit of meanness to his game. Touré, Puyol and Abidal all had/have this presence about them that I feel is missing a little with Barcelona. Busquets and Pique are too soft.

Gee I wonder why they always 'whine' to the referee a lot when they play against that particular team.
barca players always whine to the ref regardless of opponent
FC Whiners, take a look at every loss in the last decade and I don't think it would take more than five fingers to count the number of times the pitch/referee/other team killing esports has not been blamed.
Haven't posted in our football thread since we switched to the sport subforum... I can be gone for a year and still come back to an endless discussion about Mourinho/Barcelona/Chelsea. Thank you guys <3

Yeah. They need someone like Mathieu Flamini. Someone who will threaten to blind people or snap their legs in half on the pitch (and is crazy enough to follow through).
Huh? Why is that odd? The rights in Germany for that kind of stuff belong to Sky and partly to Bild (for the ~5 min recaps after the game iirc) and other parties. They obv. want you to pay for this stuff.

Yeah, Flamini is brilliant in this role haha and it has helped Arsenal enormously to have a guy like that.

The awesome thing about Messi, is that he always try to continue playing. He never dive or exaggerate. And He really could do it, because he receive lot of tackles.

I wouldnt want to share a cell with Pepe ^^
in hockey, Sidney Crosbys year long absence cause of concussion has brought much discussion about rules. People will want to see the best player play. If Messi gets injured for a longer time, theres gonna be an outrage
