I think Allen actually had a pretty poor game. He was the biggest defensive liability on the court tonight, which is saying a lot with Parker and Chalmers out there.
And Bosh played about as badly as any time during the last series.
Wade did too. Sure he shot near 50%, but Wade's game is so much deeper than that.
That said, Miller gave them more than I think they should expect and yeah, the Spurs missed a lot of open 3's.

game was awesome. I jumped out of my chair when Parker hit that amazing shot.

Oh.. and the Heat also outrebounded the Spurs by NINE. Heat are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league (thoe Spurs aren't one of the best they are statistically better).

Rebounds, on either side of the ball don't give the most impact on your chances of winning. No matter what the morons on TV say. SA beat the top rebounding league in the last round in 6, and Miami only won 1 game iirc rebounding wise vs Indiana.

Lebron bringing the maths to the chilluns.
That was pretty cool watching that clip of Parker in the huddle.

I'm not trying to say that it's a deciding factor, just that it's one more stat the Heat won in a losing effort. It certainly didn't hurt the Heat. Obviously 18rebounds from James have a lot to do with that. Making up for the failures of the dinosaur on the team.
Wonder if the Heat are having any JJ. Berea flashbacks? Parker is him x2.

Weird since Chalmers used to be a very good defensive Point Guard.

FWIW only the Dubs have beaten the Spurs this post-season.
Was a good game--Miami will be ruing a lot of missed open shots. Bosh needs to be banned from taking threes unless he's in that favourite corner of his. [Ok, wow, maybe not. Apparently Bosh is 15/31 from three these Playoffs.]
As Ace said before, the rebounding isn't going to be much of an issue this series. Both teams are more interested in establishing their D and controlling the pace of the game rather than contesting the boards so I'm not sure it's going to be much of a factor.

I'm so sad
Really hope the heat can get their shit togetha D:

Parker can make just about anyone look average.

Allen is always a defensive liability now...

I fully expected SA to win this game, I think Miami will still take this in 6.
SA had 9 days off and had plenty of time to prepare scouting-wise. I figured SA would defend completely differently than Indiana, which they did. SA almost over-helped whenever James or Wade had the ball, forcing them to pass. Indiana did the exact opposite, not helping off of shooters and funneling into Hibbert. I think Miami has to get back into that mode of crisp ball movement and forcing rotations that they didn't always have against the Pacers.
On offense tonight, especially in the fourth quarter, they looked a lot of the time like they didn't really know what to do with the ball and were just passing it for the sake of passing it; it didn't look like there was much end result or goal in mind with their offense. That's what happens when you play 7 games against a completely different type of defensive style.
I expect them to adapt and iron out the offensive kinks and play a much better game 2. Miami won 66 games primarily beating defenses similar to what the Spurs showed in game 1. Their team was built to beat that stuff; I think their ball movement will look a lot better and their shooters will be a lot more ready in game 2.

They did play a bit lackluster and encounter some issues adapting, it seems.

Reading this Zach Lowe article and apparently TP runs around 2.5 miles per game. Damn.

IDK if thats long/far for basketball. But it would be pathetic for soccer.

Yeh, so clever to compare a 90+min game on a 100x50pitch with a 48min game on a 28x15 court...
Gooo Spuuuuurs. I'm done with my finals on the 13th, pulling allnighters for MLGs, NBA and stuff all week long after that!

Offensive rebounds does two things, first give your team a chance to score 2 more points and 2nd prevent the opponent team from doing fast break and score 2 points, against the heats fast break game rebounding is crucial, every rebound is a potential 4 point swing.
