They had no choice, once Lebron was draped all over Parker they had to go to someone else to handle the ball. Manu was their second choice. Take a look at every minute where Parker played with Lebron on the bench, the Heat got crushed in every single one of those minutes because Parker would absolutely abuse the ever living fuck out of Wade and Chalmers if they were on him. Lebron was the only one capable of guarding him and that created a situation where someone else had to handle the ball and that's where the Spurs struggled. When Manu was good the Spurs won (Game 5) when he wasn't (Games 6 and 7) the Spurs lost. The Spurs gambled by forcing Wade and James to shoot and playing them with a lot of space, the Heat gambled by putting their best defender and one of their best rebounders on a perimeter player that against another team could've created a size mismatch for Chalmers. In the end, the Heat had the better hand. James and Wade hit their jump shots and Manu turned the ball over vs the Heat's trapping defense while James effectively nullified Parker's attack while he was on the floor. It was a fantastic series.

LeBron is the only one who consistently performs (then again, theres game like game 3)
