He plays rugby several times a week, that's plenty of cardio. 6-7 hours really isn't "enough sleep" you should be getting at least 8 and preferably 9. I'm sure that isn't really practical (and I say this to you having just finished an all-nighter), but it's something to strive for. Other than that... the tip I can give you for meetings is to take actual notes in them, just like you're back in a college class. Even if you don't actually need the notes, it's probably enough activity to keep you focused and awake - worked for me in the class I finished 15 minutes ago. As for driving.... ugh. That actually sounds dangerous. I'm incredibly alert when I drive thanks to having been in previous accidents and not really being comfortable behind the wheel anymore, but if I were falling asleep while driving my first instinct would be "see a doctor" and "carpool until fixed".

Monday 3x5 Squat 3x5 Bench press / Press (Alternating) Chin-ups: 3 sets to failure or add weight if completing more than 15 reps Wednesday 3x5 Squat 3x5 Press / Bench Press (Alternating) 1x5 Deadlift Friday 3x5 Squat 3x5 Bench Press / Press (Alternating) Pull-ups: 3 sets to failure or add weight if completing more than 15 reps I switched to another SS program I found here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/The_Starting_Strength_Novice/Beginner_Programs Because I had trouble doing the power cleans :/ I only started following SS seriously a week ago when I finally got someone to help me on my form for all the exercises. So changing right now shouldn't be too bad. My form for the deadlift is still pretty bad but I am working on it. I believe the form on my squat is good but it's hard to judge yourself. Anyway, after a month of going to the gym I still enjoy it very much. I can finally start following SS seriously because I have decent form right now, so it's much easier to motivate myself to go a little bit further every time I go to the gym. When I didn't have a program you can't focus 100% because you are thinking about what do you want to do next. .

Took me a while to realize that and I wish life wasn't so cruel ![]()

It's not that difficult. Skip breakfast, eat only protein & fat for lunch (e.g. bacon, eggs, sausage, etc.), stay at work till 6PM, and then work out when you get home till 7. Since I try to sleep by 10-11, I really don't have time to overeat even if I wanted to.

Otherwise fitness stuff is going well. Stretching a lot (flexibility improved). My back has finally loosened up, and the only thing left to deal with is hamstrings which are still terrible. I really feel the best I have since last June so I'm feeling good about my health. Except for the food I'm eating. Goddamn. Also its sad when your girlfriend can squat more than you can, is ridiculously flexible, and just makes a fool out of you physically haha.

I was stuck really low (130) for a long time but thenstarting like six weeks ago I unstuck and have been making solid progress from there. She can squat a bit more than me, she's only lifted a couple times and she's only 5'2" 110. (ballet...). Although I think her limiting factor is definitely core strength. I'm still stuck on bench/regular press, and I don't really look any bigger which was weird this time around. We'll see how things progress though.

Quick search on pub med showed this http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23466223 Basically drinking alcohol is strongly connected to sleep problems. No causal explanation but I've found that sipping even 1~2 shots of whisky before sleeping got me to wake up in 4-5 hours and I never slept very well. Stopped drinking alcohol and now I sleep 7 hours straight easily.

You're not going to look any bigger overnight and especially not on this program. The goal is to encourage mass and strength gains which will promote each other
