It didn't look particularly violent....... until he kicked him. That kick didn't look like he was just aiming to get the ball out from under him. It was a 'what the fuck are you doing you little bitch give me the ball' kick. Brainless moment from Hazard. Still not sure it deserved a red though. Perhaps a fine/warning after the match would've sufficed.

Like littlemuff said, you can try to hit the ball, hell you can even hit the ball but physic dictates that the body will feel the impact, and in that position, there is a little chance that he's kicking the ball only.
All in all, douche moves by both of them, it shouldn't have come down to this.

Theres no question what he did was wrong, and its not really clear he was trying to get the ball, but the kick got him the ball. I reckon thats really all that was going through his head, "fucking kid, get off the ball." Sure its a red and a suspension, but it doesnt make him an evil human being, or unprofessional or what not. All "professionals" do questionable shit at some point.

I dont think it needs to be made that big a deal off.

I mean yea obviously it's stupid and I don't mind the red and I don't mind 3 or whatever matches but he wasn't kicking the kid to hurt him. he was trying to get the ball out and due to the kid being an absolute retard, he didn't particularly care about the fact that the kid would be slightly hurt.

but only slightly. that wasn't a hard kick, and it was aimed towards the ball. it's comparable to cantona's in the sense that it was a player acting against a non-player's provocation, but the force used differs by orders of magnitude.

Can people stop calling him a kid ffs. He is a 17 year old, who knew exactly what he was doing. Went into the game to cover someone who couldn't make it, with the intention of "time wasting".

People forget that in the first half when he was behind the home goal again, he kept the ball from mata/hazard when they tried to take a quick corner.

I'm not saying Hazard was right to kick the ball underneath him to get it back, but the "kid" should get his club a fine for allowing such unsporting behavior to happen in a cup semi final. Hazard is going to get a 3 match ban for what he did, and that is more than enough.

The ref did handle it poorly as well as he did not notice any of the antics that were going on until it was to late, the same with the linesman who was like 10yards away from play >.<

Lol @ the comment of "it automatically becomes a criminal charge of assault" that's a load of bull as the kid and his dad (who ironically is on the Swansea directors board) are not pressing charges, so nothing will happen.

Is there any news on what Swansea is going to do about this guy? While Hazard kick does annoy me, unfair play like that ballboy's infuriates me. Personally I think a fine for Swansea would be a bare minimum of what should happen.

Adding to the drama, Press Association Sport reports that the ballboy involved in the scuffle with Hazard is Charley Morgan, the son of Swansea director Martin Morgan.

The boy posted on his Twitter account just hours before the game: "The king of all ball boys is back making his final appearance #needed #for #timewasting".

Yeah, someone linked the tweets a couple of pages back, and a video on SkySports shows that he was wasting time before that moment as well, so there's no denying that the kid is a right tosser. At that point all that would have happened would have been some people calling Swans' professionalism into question and giving them a fine (which might still happen), but then Hazard bites the bait and lashes out. Hazard should and likely will get a few matches out for losing his head like that.

You get a guaranteed 3 match ban for violent conduct which is what this classifies as. Does he deserve more than 3 match ban? Not for me no.

If he does get more than a 3 match ban, then Swansea need to be hit with a bigger fine than they would get.

West Ham defender Dan Potts will spend the night in hospital after suffering suspected concussion in Wednesday's 5-1 defeat by Arsenal, Hammers manager Sam Allardyce confirmed.

Potts, 18, appeared to suffer a clash of heads in the second half and was carried off the pitch after a lengthy spell of treatment.

"Hopefully it is concussion and nothing more than that," said Allardyce.

"He had not regained consciousness by the time he was taken off."

Potts replaced Jack Collison in the 62nd minute and 10 minutes later he appeared to clash heads with Bacary Sagna before landing awkwardly.
He was treated on the pitch for around 10 minutes, and Allardyce confirmed Potts was speaking before he was taken off the pitch.
