Rofl (assuming the ballboy isnt really hurt, otherwise i wouldnt laugh). Well the ballboy obviously never should have done what he did. Ref should have sent him to the stands (but I don't think he has the power to do so), and of course report the incident later on. Ofc the hometeam should get punished and the ballboy should probably be treated like a streaker/fan throwing stuff/anybody else who delays the game, especially as he acted contrary to what he was supposed to do. That being said, there is no excuse for Hazard doing what he did, especially as the ballboy was still pretty young. Red is absolutely justified and be should banned for several games imho.
The fact that Chelseas official twitter account tweeted this minutes after it happened doesn't improve on things:
This would only be true if the fact that if Hazard hadnt grabbed him he wouldnt of fell over in the first place? lol He also would of got the ball back to goalie in that time that hazard grabbed him!
Go tto laugh at him rolling around on the floor though... milking it! haha
Should have kicked him in the nuts instead, since he was getting a red card anyways. It was a really bad move, made to seem worse by acting. The kid is the douche in this situation, being slow on purpose, laying on top of the ball, wtf is up with that

Also the fact that Hazard had no business with the ball at all, it was a goalkick
There's no way to claim that Hazard is in the right here. I understand the frustration, but all he had to do was point out the retarded ball boy, who would have then been sent away and the time wasted would have probably been added to injury time. Not to mention that Swans would probably had to fork over a small fine. Would not be surprised to see Hazard miss a few matches.
Also, glad to hear that Potts regained consciousness in the ambulance. Looked real nasty when he stayed down earlier.
The ball boy should be punished for what he did by smothering the ball, completely unacceptable, but also Hazard should not have kicked at the ball while it was under the ball boy. Neither are in the right but I think the ball boy is a little more to blame here then Hazard.
haha, bit random. Hazard should have known better. I am, however, pleased that ball boy got a bit of a shock. Fucking wanker shouldn't be allowed near that job again for the rest of his life.

I feel for Hazard though, its not always easy to be that composed, especially in that situation.
For a 100k p/w+ player to kick a ball boy is outrageous. Kicking anyone is outrageous. I'm calling for a Cantona like ban. It will never happen but should. What Hazard did might also come under assault. He kicked someone that wasn't under the FAs rules so im pretty sure he didn't fill in the Health and Safety form.

Why should he have a ban similar to Cantona's? Cantona purposely kicked a fan for no reason where as Hazard was kicking the ball out from underneath a cheating little runt, I can guarantee that he made minimal contact with the "kid" who for one is 17 years old and was acting like he was a 5 year old.
There will be no police charges anyway and I would be surprised to see any more than 3 games.
Football is losing the plot fast, nobody seems to act with any form of common sense what so ever.
So kid's picking up the ball (in a slow manner I admit). Hazard comes from behind and nudges him over. Kid obviously reacts to that by smothering the ball because he's annoyed. Hazard continues to kick the kid in the ribcage. How the hell is anyone supporting Hazard here?

Oh right, no reason... There was a reason, the fan was shouting abuse at him and he reacted. The same way the kid was being a dick to Hazard. Fact is, Hazard reacted to an idiot and saying he just kicked the ball from underneath him is a understatement. He knew full well the boy was on top of it. Simple physics says the boy is going to feel impact.
There is no justifying what he did. Added time exists for a reason. He could have gone to the ref and said something like an adult. But i suppose this is what you get when you deal with a 20 something multi-millionaire who doesn't know much else than kicking a ball.
i don't think it's a kick to the rib cage, i think he's kicking to get the ball out from under him. if you think that this is the case then it's not outrageous.
edit: as in not kicking through the kid, but at the ball which is under the kid. anyone who has been in a similar situation during play or whatever knows that kicking the ball is the fastest way to force it out, or at least that's my experience.

Fanboyism aside, this is absolutely outrageous.
Fanboyism aside, I think this is absolutely not outrageous. If it were any other team aside from Chelsea I would think the same way. It's an excessive use of force but imo Hazard was entitled to attempt to get the guy off the ball. He should have tried to push him off but his temper was frayed. A few matches ban I say. This is absolutely nothing like the Cantona kick which was an epic karate charge prompted by an inconsequential fan hurling insults. Hazard basically kicked the guy with a small amount of force, really just a little more than a tap...and the guy was interfering with the match.

He shouldn't have done it, but he didn't kick the kid in the ribcage, he kicked the ball under the kid, that is why it pops out on the other side.
They're both in the wrong but this one is on the kid, look at his twitter before the match and what he said about wasting time for Swansea.
It's just sad how people are going so insane at Hazard over this.
I dont know, no matter how many times I look at it, its not particularly violent, Ofcourse considering the situation he may well be crucified. But if anything when players do this kind of stuff it just proves they are human, he didnt try to hurt the kid he was just frustrated and wanted the ball back. When was the last time a ball boy literally refused to give the ball back?
Seems to me like the kid was already rolling onto the floor without much encouragement from Hazard. Im sorry but either that kid was doing it on purpose or British teenagers are now officially pussies of magnificent proportions.
Take your pick
He took quite a while trying to get the ball of him. the kick was just an " alright, thats enough get off it".

So we agree then what he did was wrong but in a broader context not particularly blasphemous ?
Bit of a tone down from, "he kicked the kid. KILL HIM!."
He should have done nothing at all but he did. For that he should be punished. It was obvious he was frustrated and he took it out on someone. The ball went out of play he should have let the ball boy deal with it. Like i said before, added time exists for a reason.
