haha i just checked out my starting post and i've gained 70lbs on my squat and 130lbs on my deadlift since i started. i've also gained 12lbs of bodyweight. Sadly my bench and ohp are still low but my shoulder feels good enough that i might be able to start adding weight to them now.

Every nerd I see squat i wonder if he's on TL.....

Front squat 5x5 225pds
Pendlay row 5x5 175pds
Bench 5x5 175pds

My shoulders feel so beat up after this week. Lots of FS and presses. Couldnt really handle my bench today. Birthday weekend well deserved. !!!!!!!! Wooooop :D

Those 2 weeks will work do wonders for you, It's always nice (at least for me) that after a couple of months of hard training and stuff, if I know i'm injured badly, I won't go on until I'm rested. but yes, I've done this once (2weeks) and by the time I got back I was so fucking tired of doing nothing, and Was excited to lift.

So yeah, enjoy two weeks of relax and sleep and eat well. Your body will thank you. inmensely.

I think I know now what it feels like to do a farmers walk. carried 3 cases of beer up a quite steep hill to a bbq party. tough shit but the beer (and the chicks) were reward enough

currently on a size + strength program, building a decent base until I start hitting the heavier stuff.
Bulking up to hopefully 85kg~ lean

81kg with a bit of bodyfat atm

Boom! beat that bench plateau. Knew I was going to challenge it today, been in the back of my mind. As soon as I finished my squats (which were hard as hell today - goes to show me how big a single night of sleeping in my car can be =/) I jumped onto the bench. Best technique I think I've ever had, barely squeezed out the first set of five. Sat there looking at the bar for a minute, thinking about if I could get the second set out, and something snapped in me. I knew the whole block was a mental thing.

Not gonna tell myself I can't. Not going to let myself thin about how hard or heavy it is. Not gonna hold myself back. Laid down on the bench, picked up the bar - took it off the rack so hard that my shoulders slipped out a little bit. Five reps, easiest bench I've ever done. Set it back in the rack, set done. Ez-Pz. Third set went well, just running on the adrenaline of the second. Should move up again next time I bench.

Squats were really hard, and last time they were crazy easy. Still finished them... probably going to focus on sleeping and eating well, and see if I can make one more 10 pound jump next time.... Want to keep doing 10 lb jumps until I get to that 225 milestone.

colors indicate different weights, sizes are the same. If crossfit plates are the same as weightlifting, then green=10kg, yellow=15, blue=20, red = 25

I think I'd rather watch Boxer dismantle Idra twice in a row, over crossfit. Might sneak in there to pick up some examples of good form though.


Edit: maybe not. It appears that by the time these guys get to a respectable weight where they would need to actually clean&jerk (as opposed to Power Clean + push Press) they're exhausted to the point of barely being able to finish.

I don't think Crossfit games are a place to look for good technique... most of the stuff with free weights is just an endurance test. I still like to watch it very much, it definitely is a fun event (although the whole crossfit attitude still remains kind of strange to me). But I still prefer MLG, stop hating DimSum
