Read the TTC Schedule for Sunday.... not the Monday to Friday Rush Hour Schedule.
How do you propose to get from WARDEN and HWY7 to either the DON MILLS Subway Station OR FINCH Subway on SUNDAY?
How often have you taken public transit north of Steeles? It is a dead zone.
How do you propose to get from the Subway station to Lakeshore road ON SUNDAY?
M-F during rush hour it takes a minimum of 20 minutes .. but to get from Islington OR Kipling Station to Lakeshore Road.... IS 30-45 MINUTES ALL BY ITSELF ON SUNDAY because the bus to lakeshore arrives once every 20 MINUTES.
What you gonna take the StreetCar? which basically goes as fast as a horse and buggy?
So don't hand me this crap that a Humber College Student can pop up to Markham like its nothing. when all they have to do is walk to the place at Kipling and Lakeshore for a total cost of ZERO.
to any one who lives in south etobicoke.... good luck trying to get any where north of Steeles on Sunday via public transit.
This man speaks the truth...north of steels goodluck getting back home after 7.

No need for any other toronto events... The viewing happening at the victory cafe (on markham ROAD in toronto not in markham) has the ORIGINAL and best t.o. SC2 crowd.
Search '[Starcraft 2] MLG Orlando Viewing Oct 16th' on facebook or for our TL thread. Will be an AMAZING time next sun!! The best one yet and with the best people.

It's always nice to have more events. There's no harm to it. Competition is always good especially since the last barcraft at victory cafe was way too packed. I didn't even get a chance to watch the games.

Were getting multiple screens this time and a room on the first floor. Should have alot more room for people. I like the sports bar aspect (assuming you can use all the screens) but I think the liberty has a big advantage of being so central. Also the guys running it (chromate, galleon, et al) have quite a bit of experience running these things and are always trying to improve them.
edit: Don't get me wrong tho, im all for this. The more events we have in toronto the more attention we'll bring barcraft.

If we would like to go , what are transportation (TTC) we must take from downtown, or anyone
else go with car that I can join with? Yes, it will open at 11 AM on Saturday. You can take TTC Bus - 68 - Warden to get there. Warning to people attempting to travel north of Steeles Avenue:
68B runs 1 time PER HOUR.
how often does Bus 68 run on Sunday once every 70 minutes. furthermore please note "The 68B (Warden Stn-Major Mackenzie) extended branch operates until approximately 9:45 pm only,"

Plus the fact that the TTC buses that go into york region are usually late by 5-15 mins >.<

I think you mean Markham STREET. Markham RD is in Scarborough > Markham.

Also, the GTA is giant geographical area with horrific public transit. So if someone wants to set up a Barcraft event... all the more power to 'em.
the other Barcraft at Kipling and Lakeshore is a good option for those without a car who live near the lake.. and are on the Queen Street Car line.

TTC service north of Steeles is flat out garbage.

So true, no one in Toronto (because Markhan is not Toronto) will go outside their city when there are 2 other events going on. Good luck I guess but I don't see why anyone would travel up there for mediocre wings and hang out with 7 other people.

Guys, GUYS. More barcraft is good barcraft. I'm also not going to travel all that way when Victory Cafe is a 20 minute walk away from me, but people who live in the outskirts generally have cars and/or are used to taking a few extra cab rides to accommodate their homes in the middle of nowhere. There will probably be more than 7 people and it will probably be a great time! Let's all enjoy our respective barcrafts. Nobody's taking us seriously anyway, we're Canadians.
|
Wait, is BarCraft St.Louis still going on? Just making sure
|
Guys seriously, wtf is with the animosity?? I live in Richmond Hill and this is RIDICULOUSLY easier for me to get to than Victory Cafe. Also, I used to live in Toronto and commute to Leslie/Hwy7 daily and it wasn't as bad as a lot of you people are making it out to seem. If it is too much for you, then yeah, just go to the barcraft more convenient, but there's no need to rage at the people organizing this one... I definitely think I'll be checking this out for lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and look forward to seeing others there...

indeed, i've all ways though of going to Victory Cafe, but from McCowan and Steeles is a little far to go when at any time i could be called back by the wife.
Also FREE PARKING always a plus ♥.
What is the timing for this? All day whole event?
|
|
I'll definitely go to this one. I don't live in the city and I'd have to pay for parking the whole day if I have to go to the one in downtown. Thank you so much for opening up another venue for people outside of downtown!

Same, I've wanted to go for a while but Steeles/Markham is just a tad far to be taking a bus to the Victory one from lol. I actually might check this one out if I can figure out the busses

This is awesome Langer, thanks for doing it. Forget all the hate here about "we already have one". I for one, live way up north in Newmarket, and going all the way downtown is a pain for me. Im glad to see this one in Markham!
And all you TTC users who are stating its hard to get there, you can take the York Region Transit, Viva bus, which runs straight along Highway 7. Easy peasy, leaves every 15 minutes! Bring your $2.75 lol.
Ill be there Langer! Thanks for hosting such an awesome event, itll be my first Barcraft!
