Also, afternoon Dark Souls is likely because of this.
I like the idea of afternoon Dark Souls.

Them and Iron Maiden are two bands I would love to go see live, but no one ever comes up to my neck of the woods aside from Breaking Ben (because they're from the next town over lol) and country artists.

I used to love Thrice back in the day and even went to see them even tho they were playing with my chemical romance hehehe. actually I think my chemical romance may have been opening for them back then! mmm nostalgia

She is awesome. pretty and does such a sexy accent. I also think she is cool because of how openly she talked about her boobs that one time after pirates of the Caribbean and how they had to spend 45 min stuffing them and adding make up to make them look bigger cause she doesnt have fake tits up to hollywood size. She also posed topless with the restriction that the photo was printed without any Photoshop which is pretty neat. Alaric never watched new starwars movies? Swashbuckling is awesome always even if it is comparable to ballet. Orlando bloom and johnny depp are also pretty sweet in that movie. Actually fuck it that movie is so great. so many twists and so much Disney ambiance/music/choreography is some scenes. It may be a little childish but the acting and story is lovely.
RUSH is good but im pretty tired of hearing their hits on the radio. becuase of the rules that we have to play so much canadian music every rock station plays them sooooo often. Its not as bad now but still, closer to the heart makes me change the station everryyyyy timeeee. They were in toronto again recently and i should have gone with my friend but i didnt.

Opinions (both good and bad) I've heard about Maiden live is that while they're lively, they don't really diversify themselves and it's pretty much always the same stuff. When they came to the Hellfest a few months ago, several people (including an amateur journalist trying to snag the "most interesting" bands when splitting up the coverage with her colleagues) told me they simply weren't hyped by Maiden anymore, because seeing them once was like seeing everything about their concerts.
I saw Star Wars movies, yes (ep. 3 only in bits here and there, think I've seen most of it though), I noticed she has a supporting part in ep. 1 or something? As mentioned, maybe accent and stuff plays a role, but I found Johny Depp's character too cheesy for my taste, and he was overdoing it as a whole, not just the voice (uh, I only found "ham it up" for this? I've come to see "going ham" as a neutral/positive way of describing exaggeration, but it came up as the translation for the pejorative); not a fan of Orlando Bloom either (only seen him in LotR and Pirates, I heard he can actually act decently now?). And that are good scenes and humour and stuff in the movie! They aren't everywhere though, and I mentioned one particular swordfight which was drawnout and too obviously staged, doesn't mean the others weren't nice (but I remember snapping out of the scene to wonder how long the scene had lasted; while in something like They Live that's a good point, in an "brainless entertainment" kind of movie that's... quite not).

Talking about Rush, Geoffrey Rush was the real star of PotC imo.
Barbossa was a wonderful character.

Love the longer swashbuckling fights. like in the second one i think when they are fighting for like 30 min and end up going down the hill on a wheel or w.e. I can see how they could be too long for someone wanting to advance the story but I just think its so cool how they use the elements around them and balance/leap/swing around constantly. I dont know about the expression 'ham it up' but i do know what you mean about the character being "overdone" and I personally love it. I mean its not in my top 10 movies of all time or w.e. but I think johnny depp killed it and that character was really well done. I can see how a translation would loose some effect too though. Legolas is awesome! who doesnt like orlando bloom in lord of the rings
Yeah barbossa was great too! the speech before elisabeth first sees them as undead and just so many good lines and banter. "So what now, Jack Sparrow? Are we to be two immortals locked in an epic battle until Judgment Day and trumpets sound?" "Or you could surrender.

I used to have the 2nd PotC on my ipod, and in high school I watched it so many times during study halls. That wheel scene was so good, and Barbosa was so good. And the fucking Kraken
"Ye best start believin' in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You're in one."
Hans Zimmer is just a magician with soundtracks.

First scene of Curse of the Black Pearl establishes everything you need to know about Jack Sparrow.
That entrance is one of the best of all time imo.

The scene I was saying I disliked (think I started wondering how long it was lasting while they were on the barrow). Although at least Depp doesn't wear the full eye make-up in that one. x)
And the fight with Barbossa, be it banter or the twist or the way it was filmed, is by far better than that one, yes.

-funny dialogue -builds orlandos and depps character in an action scene -good choreography -good use of environment -good music -good physical comedy from depp contrasted with the chivalrous showing off of bloom
also it contrasts how cpn jack is always relaxed but dangerous and ready to kill/commit violence while flower pants bumboy is serious but fair and nonviolent.
probably the best scene in movie whats wrong with you

I should just come to accept the fact that Alaric has shit taste, but this is just so astounding to me

I didn't find the dialogue funny, nor Bloom's character interesting (in general, not in this scene; prob has to do with his acting though), and the whole "use of environment" thing is heavily overplayed in that one while the choregraphy is meh and forced. Music takes a backseat since the focus of this scene is the action, which is lacking, so it can't really make up for that. Drawing it for too long like that would make boredom replaced comedy even if I found the antics in there funny to begin with (there are some, but they're exceptions).
I don't get the difference you make between music and soundtrack though? Sound effects?
