Well on the plus side standard is easier to learn than modern imo, although it is more expensive long term and more volatile. Chances are also that this s 'casual' playgroup isn't that casual as there are always a few really dominant standard decks in the meta and not much else works homebrew wise, unless those guys don't care about consistently losing to the couple guys who play abzan (black/white/green). You also would do well in standard by drafting new sets as they come out to learn about the cards to some degree, but that may just be my limited bias showing again. | ||

The guy I spoke to said he's happy to set up drafts anytime there are players but there's no real fixed draft day. Oh he also said they occasionally do "store drafts"(I think he said that) which may happen with new release which is just free draft but cards go back to store. | ||

USB ports will randomly stop working, then randomly start working again. Wireless card no longer works. I get internet by USB tethering my tablet, which occasionally has problems re: above. The thing randomly gets real hot. One day the CPU will sit at 60c playing some game, then the next day hit 80c doing the same shit. A few times it has just refused to start, will go into bios and then nothing. Every time it seems to fix itself after a couple reboots. I'm convinced it's some hardware issue. All the old girl has to do is last till I get back to 'murica and then I'll retire her. | ||
