I also like /r/skinwalkers even though the stories can be a bit hit or miss. I know it sounds hypocritical since I just downtalked SCP for becoming open source and then recommended Reddit, but I feel like SCP has become mostly people too amused with writing cliche stories and the [REDACTED]ing the article. At least a lot of the /nosleep ones are mostly original, especially if you read the monthly winners.
I enjoy /r/nosleep occasionally. /u/1000vultures' story series Penpal was pretty damn good, and I'm pretty sure it turned into a book.
edit: Yup

Mushishi 9 years ago. Yea maybe if you reduce that to 5 years it'll make more sense ;D Mushishi, -monogatari series, Girl who Leapt Through Time, Baccano, Nodame Cantabile... F/Z is a good series, but "top 5 in the last decade"? You'd have to have pretty specific tastes for F/Z to be in your top 5 since 2005. Since 2010, yeah It could probably squeeze into top 5. Though that also might be because I watched more anime in 2005-2010 than I did from 2010 onward, so I know of less stuff that would compete with it. Didn't realize KnK counted. Definitely top 1 anime.
Haven't liked GitS series, not enough like the movie for my taste. I haven't seen Mushishi or Girl who Leapt Through Time but they are on my backlog. Didn't like Baccano at all but that was only 2 epsiodes. Nodame I've never even heard of.
I'd consider F/Z somewhere close to the top stuff I've seen but I'm incredibly picky in the first place and have only recently begun watching anime at all.
EDIT: Oh and I hated Bakemonogatari with a passion.

Sigh I will never have even remotely close to a full HS collection.

I think he's talking about HS' Argent Tournament set? Edit: It's been made pretty explicit by the various references and the timeline relative to other adventures/expansions coincide, Req.
SCP-093 lost part of its cool once it started being too clear on what happened and stuff. It's not that it's actually bad, but it's very clearly inferior to the atmosphere of the early parts. I generally dislike the creepy pasta SCPs, but that's because my mind is too much of a cretin for me not to dislike creepy pastas in general. I prefer the SCPs which tell a story, focus on being intriguing, or even amusing (some are, like the one which switches owners and you have a list of the personel trying to own it one after the other), or are just nicely crafted. The majordomo one is pretty fun, as is The "Mister series" (the document isn't updated).
I spent a good chunk of my office time reading the type-moon wiki today. It was super interesting as always, there are a bunch of concepts that are cool/enjoyable/rife with potential and the universe also has quite some depth. Some stuff is cringy or cheesy, sure, but overall I always find it interesting to read about concepts/entities (more so than the articles on characters detailing their storylines).

I think the thing I first think about with the Nasu-verse is the Reality Marble vs Marble Phantasm explanation. Stumbled upon it a few years ago on TV Tropes (first FSN anime; look, the concept of Unlimited Blade Works is cool, 0K? And Reality Marble was the trope namer at the time). The example using "make it so you pick the white marble" vs "making all marbles white" was pretty straight-forward and illustrated a pretty cool and wide concept, and resembled something I encounted in a friend's homebrew rules a bit later (the system/concepts he built, while inspired by various thing, are really great from a creativity/freedom standpoint), and Umineko uses a pretty similar analogy to compare the nature of Lambadelta's and Bernkastel's powers, which in turn give you clues as to the events. And Umineko is great (but you gotta read, not watch the anime).
The piano part from Alexander's theme is stuck in my head. ._.
If you liked the "mystery" and atmosphere of early SCP-093 expeditions, maybe the lyrics and calmness of that song will suit your tastes, Coma. Apparently it's not really liked amongst Maiden's works, though?

HI guys. I'm a little late with this post it would seem, but, following the discussion of Yamato's feelings towards Bakemonogatari, It's nice to have finally confirmed what I had suspected all along.
Yamato is the devil.

Yamato, what didn't you like about Baccano? You're not the first person to tell me it didn't capture their interest, but the setting/storytelling style captured me instantly so I never really had that problem.
