An ombrelle is something you hold yourself, it's personal, while a parasol, while holding the same role, is a lot wider and typically stuck in the ground, or a hole in a table, to cover for the whole zone/several people and isn't meant to be walked around with, but apparently you use parasol for both, which is what I meant.
