But less frustrating than Justice Fortress 3? Probably not, that boss is legit like the worst memory I have of gaming forever. It's like, him and Shadow Link from Zelda 2 when I was a tiny tiny boy.

So you'd start taking in your second tiers, then your friends, anyone to fill a spot for the raid hours. Eventually the people who would show up and are mains just got more and more frustrated with this. Many guilds simply disbanded or put off raiding till the expansion. M'uru ranks up there with the Horsemen and KT from Naxx 1.0 for difficulty and even then I'd argue M'uru was the more difficult fight mechanics wise.

He was an absolute brick wall, tantalizingly close to the finish line, and I know of numerous guilds that outright quit raiding(didn't even go back and finish SWP after the nerf) until WotLK because of him. I know of many others that put 0 attempts on him(after their initial attempts post Spell-pushback fix), and just built up basically ideal gear from the first 4 bosses and BT for weeks and weeks, and then finally gave it another go. Some of those guilds still failed right up until the nerf(I think it was a little more than 2 months post-release when the first nerf hit, then there was the WotLK prep patch that made the entire zone a joke).

I mean, I don't care so much, but. There were like four Metroid games in that genre before Castlevania ever started doing it. I guess just calling the genre Metroid would be lame.

And the main argument is probably that there are things that SotN did that the Metroid games didn't that are still staples of the subgenre nonetheless.
