Hooray for fourth year university math students!
-_-
That's not too bad man. I had to take a minute to remember how to integrate the other day while doing higher order differential equations . Sometimes maths just doesn't like us

Well fixed my error and updates the Pacelena post. Thanks yango for reminding me.

I know that when I first started consciously checking myself on that a few years ago, I definitely wasn't drinking enough water. I mean, sure. I personally drink close to a gallon of water per day (most days). But for people to just not drink any or enough water (or worse, soda and shit) while being physically active and then being negatively affected by it - that's just natural selection as far as I'm concerned. Becoming dehydrated just normally over the course of the day is understandable, it happens; and it's not nearly as detrimental - get a headache, feel run down/tired, but otherwise fairly minimal negative effects until you drink a couple gulpes of glorious H2O People make mistakes, they push themselves too far. In places where you know it's actually hot this can lead to problems. There is a reason Gatorade was invented in a state where you can track the settlement and population growth by the invention and accessibility of Air Conditioning. Calling these things "natural selection" as you still hear about the occasional story about a player fainting on a training field or worse and you think that's just some twisted form of Darwinism? Don't be a jerk Soniv. While I do agree with Darwinism, I do think that sometimes that people make honest mistakes or that sometimes they just don't know any better. Wouldn't necessarily go ahead and say that Darwinism is doing justice in those cases, but I'd sooner say that "life just happens". There's a lot of misinformation out there in the world and unfortunately we are at a time where people are educated enough to find this misinformation but not educated enough to see it for what it is. I don't think it's right to say the people are always at fault for making a mistake, everyone makes mistakes at the end of the day it's just what kind of safeguards are in place to catch you when that happens. Need to up our style/standard/level of education to match the freedom of information we now have
I mainly posted that example of my dad to show that anyone can make a simple mistake which can lead to serious health problems. My dad's worked outside all his life, but that mistake where he didn't have enough electrolytes really made him become a lot safer. Now anytime we work outside - gatorade 100% of the time, especially now that we live in Florida instead of NJ with Florida's rays of death.
The girl that died from it probably pushed herself too hard and didn't realize she didn't intake enough electrolytes to supplement her workout routine. It's a shame. Obviously she fucked up, but I wouldn't go so far as to reddit-level this thread and call it "darwinism."

Well the short answer is that you're looking at Mathematics. I'm guessing you're talking about the 3D plot, which I have no idea what that is called.
And that was a snippet of the work that I was doing to try and show that a function is analytic everywhere over the complex plane. That is, the function is analytic for every complex value that I input into it.
Complex values are like Real values but they include imaginary numbers.

I forgot almost all calculus and differential equations, weeeeee

yup
sometimes I think back to abstract algebra and ponder creating and building upon proofs of undefined functions
and then I open this thread back up to bring myself back down to earth

Proofs are basically only for people that go study maths. It's just a disconnect between what the maths school want to teach and what the other field wants. The way you use DEs in the field is just completely different to how the maths guys want you to learn it. Becomes really frustrating honestly. You get bound by these maths only courses teach maths in a way that you won't use it just because they purists then you go do your actual specialization that just throws all that away while giving you tools you actually need.
