Prometheus was cursed that he has to be chained to some mountain or some shit for ever while an eagle feasts on his liver every day. Then comes Hercules and reks the chains that bound him to the mountain. But because Prometheus was cursed, Hercules made a ring and put a little bit of the mountain into it so that he is still technically bound to the mountain (letter of the law > spirit of the law) and that symbolism is used in marriage because being married is kinda like having an eagle feast on your liver every day. | ||
