The first time you hit 405 on any lift is a good time, I'm just busting your balls a bit =].
You'll feel like a god when you hit it from the floor, right up until you put it down and want to move up higher.

You'll feel like a god when you hit it from the floor, right up until you put it down and want to move up higher. It's true. I haven't been able to hit 365 deadlift in a long time so I needed to do some other stuff to break it. The day I pr'd I felt like a beast, haven't felt that good since, I just picked up no grind.

Actually wasn't a rare sentiment I think I believed it the first time that happened at the Grammys one year, but honestly I think it's just trolling. Any kid can Google Paul McCartney at any time.

Despite the trolls the ratio of people being honest is too damn high!

nemesis draft
got Annie LOL
|
Isn't Annie like a top tier champ right now?
Nemesis draft sounds almost as bad as Year Beast.
|
year beast is utter garbage though, plus since the times are random the dota servers are even more dead than normal lol
nemesis draft is just silliness, I'm guessing that it'll be ignored pretty quickly once the novelty wears off just like reverse draft in dota
|
nemesis draft is actually just the worst featured game mode so far
only fun for like 3 games then it's just boring bs
|
it's the kind of thing that sounds really fun but turns out to be really boring in practice
wooooo everyone gets to play champs they hate, oh wait that's awful~

I was just going to write out "hahahah" repeatedly in all caps, but I don't think that'll get the point across. In fact, it isn't funny at all, it's a terrible situation with terrible people running it and I think I'm just going to turn in my key tomorrow to save myself another week of headache. I'm not sure if you are joking here or not. Regardless of how bad the situation is, why burn bridges? Even if you are leaving your company at a time your boss thinks is bad, I don't see how it's a good idea to go out in a way that will get her to feel more animosity towards you. Just forget the job and move on to something better. Ya that's basically why I was asking/what I was leading into saying. I was even going to link to a thread on another forum I visit where some very wealthy and successful men weighed in on the subject because a 20-something specifically asked how he can leave a job on not good terms -basically wanting advice on how to let his bosses know he was pissed. The advice of "don't" was basically unanimous. A lot of businesses are very insular as far as their workforces are concerned, especially if you maintain residence around the same area. You may encounter people again in the future as a colleague, an employer, a client, etc. At worst you should VERY FORMALLY inform them in your exit review of your specific complaints and leave it at that. Even that isn't advisable though because your snark will almost certainly shine through, and there is literally 0 upside to it other than "lol I showed them." I understand where you guys are coming from, and if this was any other company I would agree. But this isn't even a company, this is a startup that's completely run on the whim of the person who made it. I laugh because the idea that she'd sit me down for an exit interview is laughable. Likely what's going to happen is she's just going to ask for my key and say goodbye. Our "HR department" is an outside company that has only ever showed up at the office to change salaries and fire people. I had to leave 3 messages and send 2 emails to get my dental card, which then they had to reprint because they misspelled it. The owner is the same person who brought me into her office the first week of January and promised me a raise, and then never gave it to me or brought it up ever again. But gave one to her best friend/business partner, who was just a secretary at their old job together but apparently "is smart enough to be a BA". She's not. Every client we have hates her, and have said so on calls. They specifically ask that she stop working on projects because she's horrible. This is the same owner who cut everyone's pay by 20% because we weren't getting paid by our clients, then "resolved" the situation by firing our developer lead and 2 other people. But then didn't give our normal paychecks back for another month while she hired a new BA who she fired a month later because he was underqualified to fill the role. She knew that going in too. She's systematically driven away everyone she doesn't like by cutting their pay until they can't afford to work here anymore. Even our COO, who was the only one pulling in business, she decided to cut down to a 10% commission bonus because they got in an argument about the direction of the company or something. The idea that they would even be organized enough to hold an exit interview is hilarious, as is the thought that she'd listen to anything I have to say. The only thing she knows how to do is make arbitrary promises to clients and then yell at people when they don't deliver them for her. Literally all I got working on this project was about 20 wireframes and the direction to "make it work". I don't need any professional relationship with her or this company. Everyone I like who works here hates her too and are looking to quit. I have references from every developer who works here or who has in the past. I already have a new job. I live and will work far enough away that I will never encounter them again, and the field this company works in is so niche that I should never encounter it unless I go looking for it. I'm not going to run into her office, call her an asshole and scream at her. I think I'll just quietly walk in, leave my keys, and thank her for her time. Even if I fixed every problem we had before I left, I wouldn't expect to keep a professional relationship with her. It's just now how she operates. I've watched every single person who has left or been fired blamed for every project that comes up. A site breaks? "Those fucking developers who worked on it. They were shit anyway." A client backs out of a deal? "That guy I fired so mismanaged this project. What an asshole, it's his fault we're here." Someone changes their mind on a design? "The old UX/UI guy was a real chump. He can't do anything right." Not a single person has left this company with our CEO having good things to say about them. I don't expect to be the first.
She sounds like your typical league player...

I only see it being fun in an inhouse setting or a 'joke' tourney played with high level/pro players.

You guys ever feel like you need life to just slow down because man I really want to drop one of my 5 courses and just take it easier, but I feel bad cause it seems all of my friends are gunning for like 5-6 courses and I'm kind of pussying out

there's this thing with a lot Americans (also ties into corporate culture) where they like to compete for who is busiest as possible
I've never understood it. Being busy and overwhelmed with shit is not enjoyable. Do what's good for you, who gives a shit if other people are killing themselves with classes.

I have a friend who works extraordinarily hard because somehow he survives on something like 4 hours of sleep every 30 hours. He is super passionate about his work and gets really energized by it. Yet even he broke down when he tried to both complete his doctorate and work as an inner-city special-needs teacher at the same time. His work suffered, his social life suffered, and he had never felt so tired before in his life. Since then though he put one of those things on pause and now he's back to normal. Well, his normal, anyway.
So don't go comparing yourself to other people when you're deciding what your limits are. You're different from other people. Maybe you're underselling yourself and you can really handle it, or maybe you do need to take a break. Or maybe you just want some time to do something else productive. I guess my thought is, when/if you relax your class load, think about what exactly you want to use that time for and try to be intentional about it.
